Some more on Josh Malone

Josh Malone has signed the new financial papers with Tennessee that guarantees Malone a spot in the Vols' recruiting class, but we are told tonight that Tennessee is not likely to be the only school with which Malone signs those papers.

We also hear that Malone is expected to sign the same documents with both Georgia and Florida State, who remain alongside Tennessee as the gifted wideout's three finalists.

The reasoning is that the family wants the coaching staffs from all of Josh's finalists to not be restricted by NCAA contact rules and be able to see and communicate with Malone and his family as much as possible as the decision-making process winds to its close.

The family did not wish this information to be released and is not pleased. It's not good for any of the parties involved that this information leaked today after the family requested it be kept in confidence.

Malone still will officially visit Clemson and could sign as many of these papers as desired. Nothing has changed on his announcement date; it remains Dec. 4.

Sounds like good news if FSU coaches in fact did leak the info. Malone and his family didn't want it released and they did anyway? Ouch.

Whats insane is signing these papers allow the schools and coaches to talk about the recruit while the process is still going on.

This is why the NCAA willl close this loophole.

Malone is a prime example.

Yes. I think it will hurt FSU. UT nor Malone wanted this info out there for this exact reason.

UT coaches didn't want this info out. The Malone's didn't want this info out. UT coaches vowed to them that they would not tell a soul. And now the info is out a few days later. You can see how things could get confused. Luckily, we got to the bottom of it quickly so that the UT coaches wouldn't get blamed.

Did he forsee this scenario?

He always is concerned with how people see him and handling this. He never said anything about things getting out of hand. It will bother him a lot. He really wanted to respect all teams & their coaches and not play the game.

By leaking this info, it all but ensures that Malone signs these papers with UGA and FSU.

Means they can contact him and remove all restrictions.

Means all 3 coaches can then comment on Malone by NAME.

Oh my oh my, i feel for this family going through this decision.

I see this as a really uncalculated decision by the Malone Camp.

I don't see how the upside outweighs the downside. They must've known that there was a solid chance this would leak and this would happen.

Edit:

By *this* - I mean the idea of signing with all three.

If in fact he only signed with UT, intending to only sign with UT, and FSU were just bad sports, I feel for the family.

My honest guess is this is what happened and FSU was just being a bunch of b*tches and spoiled the kid's day.

This is coming from the guy who thought he was a UGA lean 4 hours ago.

So will someone explain what's going on here a little more clearly? I'm not understanding why this looks bad for Malone?

Considering they've never raised a top shelf high school recruit and seen the process they've done a wonderful job.

It doesn't look bad for Malone. It looks bad for FSU. The only thing that is "bad" is that Malone and his family have found a way to beat the system.

If he does indeed sign all 3 FA agreements, he can have unlimited amount of contact non restricted with those allotted schools.

I could be wrong on this, so please correct me if I'm wrong:

By signing these papers with all three schools, all three schools can publicly discuss Malone.

In other words, it becomes a PR fest until early December for Malone.

My honest guess is that he only signed with UT, FSU is being a bunch of pansies. And now Fortenberry is saying all three are anticipated to save the kid's day.

Oh I got ya. Thanks. :hi:

Yeah this is about to get messy.

Maybe not.

This is what I don't understand. They signed paperwork to have open, unrestricted communication. That means Coach Thig can come by anytime he wants or possibly Coach Z shows up at their home.

If someone/anyone notices this, that means they've either filed paperwork or theyre violating recruiting rules. It's not rocket science. They've put themselves in a situation to be noticed, so in not sure what they'd be upset for.

In the end, the kid is going to go where he wants.
