Yeah, I was hoping he would be further along by now and a starter too. The good news is, he's still going to see a lot of snaps this fall even as 2nd string to start out. I feel like we've been waiting forever to see Croom catching passes in Neyland but really it's only been a year! Soon :)

Yep, it's gonna happen for this kid.... just want it for him, the team and us, sooner rather than later.

I understand what you're saying, because that is true about many posters on here in many cases. And contrary to many opinions on here.... it's ok to be optimistic! I try to be realistic when it comes to recruiting and understand that nothing is for certain.

but have you ever heard barton simmons speak on the radio?? He is the biggest vandy homer out there. I literally take nothing he says seriously.

North, Smith and Howard have been running with the 1's for awhile in camp, getting much more 1 reps than the other WR's. And Butch was quoted as saying two freshman WR's would start. I can't remember where that was posted, someone else have the link?

Last fall practice is today, depth chart should be out early next week for 100% confirmation.

What you're is saying is correct about 2 Freshmen starting but I also think I remember hearing that Josh had dropped off a bit near the end of camp but had a couple opportunities remaining to make up lost ground. Given that Croom is also a Freshman, albeit a RS Freshman, I just didn't read into what I was hearing that Croom was not the starter.

Heard Barton on 104.5 yesterday evening and said he really has no clue as to what JM is going to do.
I think his prediction of UGA was just a shot in the dark.

Cooke was being sarcastic to an outrageous degree, recently Barton said he thought it was UGA and another school, his guess was.... Wait for it.... Vandy. Yeah I know.

Wow. Imagine what it's like for Josh Smith. Grew up a UT fan and set to start his very first game in the season opener as a true freshman

Amazing. What a story to tell the grandkids!

The second WR spot perplexes me.

It seems people have been very vocal about North starting at WR, but not Josh. He has taken a lot of snaps with the 1's, though. Today on 104.5 Joey Kent didn't mention him as a potential starter when he talked about North.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is 1 of about 5 people.
