Wonder what Malone's interview about ND will be like. Hopefully he realizes they suck, and play the second weakest schedule next to tOSU. Sure would like to hear him talk some more about UT as well

His quotes from ND visit...

“The academic information helped out a lot,” Malone said. “That was one of the things that we didn’t get to get since we only went up there for the game against Stanford, so it was one of those things I was looking forward to. Just see how the campus moved around and the lifestyle up there.”

“The spring game was great,” Malone said. “I saw how they like to go vertical in the offense. I was just trying to see and I was just looking at the sets and everything they were running and how many wide receivers they had on the field. Really it was very useful to get up there for that spring game.”

“I look at that a lot because I want to be an instant impact,” Malone said. “Really I just want to get in and play because I know the opportunity to go pro is really not sitting down. It’s really on the field.”

“I feel like they stand well,” Malone said. “I don’t know where they’re at right now but I feel like they stand well. They’re gonna be a team to watch in the future, just how they are and how the offense moves the ball up and down the field.”

Kelly's offensive ideology is definitely a vertical one. Got exposed against Saban, too.

A lot of offenses do against him, though, so there's that.

Maybe there was some scheme issues for ND, but the overwhelming issue that they could not overcome was talent differential. It was not close. ND was a good college team. Alabama was an NFL development league team.

With the mother reportedly wanting him to attend school out of state, despite Malone really liking the Vols, concerns me. In the end, I have to wonder if he ends up a Vol.

It may just be Malone's personality but his ND comments seemed kinda Luke warm. I just haven't seen to many interviews from so it seems like he might be more reserved.

If Manti Te'o could tackle (as well as the rest of the backfield...) Alabama would most likely have at least 2 touchdowns less. Lacey made him look like a pee-wee player!

I agree, but offensively, it was the same crap the entire game from ND.

There was some article breaking down Kelly vs. Jones, and how they run their offenses.

Kelly's is very simple.

Not too sure how I feel about this one either. Mom is tough - no doubt - she doesn't allow him to have a Facebook, Twitter, accept phone calls, etc. So, know that he will not have any say-so as to where he plays in college.

That is pretty sad if accurate. Feel bad for the kid.

Kid should be able to go where he wants? What's the deal with her wanting him out of state? Malone really likes Tennessee doesn't he?

That's a sad state of affairs when control is that big of an issue . Malone is an elite receiver and I'm sure would flourish here . If he is forced to go somewhere else , best of luck.

While this guy definitely knows his x's and o's... everyone should remember that this was written after Butch's first year, when his team struggled a bit. This would be the equivalent of one of us evaluating Dooley's offense after his first year, or any year for that matter. He definitely seems to favor Brian... but at that point in time who wouldn't?

Wasn't Butch's first HC gig. He did a lot of the same things at Central Michigan.

I said this about a month ago. Mom seems to be very controlling. She wants him to go out of state.

I'm sorry, but with Malone's skill set, why in the world would you pick ND over Tennessee? He may not end up at either, but just saying.

Why does his mom want him out of state? She not like UT? Malone pretty good buds with all the commits so far, I think he wants to be a part of this team
