And yes I know we've lost recruiting battles to teams outside the conference before (recently), but mostly I blame that on incompetent recruiting by our last coaching staff. Butch isn't going to leave the door open for Malone to go somewhere else. He's going to close this out like the boss that he is and our passing game is going to give me butterflies all offseason.

This guy grew up in SEC country. He's not going to choose to play ball against Wake Forest every week. He wants to be on CBS at 2:30. He wants to play rivalry games every week. He wants to go to the Georgia Dome and win an SEC title. He wants to burn the best defenses in the country and prove how good he is. SEC football is where it's at and it's not even close. The conference factor is too good and works in our favor here (just like i think it did for Marquez North). I would be much more worried if this was coming down to us and Georgia.

I think we're getting Josh Malone. It makes too much sense.

Great point!

Agree totally. He's a day 1 starter just like North. Immediately makes us better when he steps on campus.

Guys, he announces Noon central on Wednesday December 4th. He's taking school off tomorrow, Tuesday to think about it. He will announce at his school, Wednesday.

It's not that complicated.

Not complicated, just a little confusing when the situation appears a little fluid and when credible sources give conflicting dates.

I've done a little lurking on a Clemson board to try and see how they feel. From what I read, it seems like they think he is ours. I still think it's close. The funny part is that they think we are cheating somehow

I'm sure he has friends on Clemson's team too. I doubt that really affects his decision at all. I mean the Alexander brothers went to 2 different schools.

Not best friends who are actively recruiting him. Of course he's built friendships with some Clemson guys, (Kitt and Watson) but I don't see them being as involved.

Don't mean to be negative but if our season had been a little stronger I think this would be and open and shut case.

Comes back down to the "need" factor though. He realizes that he's a vital recruit to the home team.

He's a big deal for Clemson too, but distance does matter.

I don't think he is best friends with them. I could be wrong though. I'm just saying if two brothers can split up, I can easily see two friends doing it. Croom and Kamara come to mind too.

Just like our fans think they are always cheating? Funny how that works. :)

Malone will be announcing at 11am CST and it will likely be broadcast on NBC Sports: 220 on DirecTV or 1640 HD for U-Verse. That's national.. As said before, Clemson and UT will be in home visiting tonight

Its crazy to think he was pretty much a done deal to us his junior year with Dooley and Chaney and UF being the only other option. Crazy how much recuiting changes.
