6'9" 195lbs
4* according to ESPN

Was not highly recruited or rated, but after a recent 8" growth spurt has really caught the eye of some big programs, including Tennessee. He is friends with Vic Wharton and is a guy that Vic told Cornish to start recruiting.

Here's his scout from ESPN:

Strengths:
London is a extra long and athletic combination forward that excels on the break where he is an quick leaping above the rim finisher. He is most comfortable facing, picking and popping and reading dribble penetration to get off the open three mostly off the catch. London is also a threat trailing the play for the open three as well. London is an unselfish and willing passer and is a good ball handler for his size. He blocks and contest shots and rebounds well in his area.

Weaknesses:
London must add strength, work to add to his post up game and continue to add to his ball handling. He must also stay in attack mode throughout the game and work to be a more consistent performer.

Bottom Line:
London is a long skill combination forward that possess excellent athletic ability. He is a very intriguing prospect with tremendous upside.

ESPN article from yesterday:

Class of 2014 Makinde London (Thompson Station, Tenn./Summitt) was an under-the-radar prospect before a pair of very strong performances at this spring’s Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions and the Wallace Prather Memorial opened some eyes.

Those efforts have helped him play his way onto a number of recruiting lists, and you can bet London will be a hot name with some high-level D-I squads and mid-major coaches during the upcoming July evaluation period.

Reggie Rankin/ESPN
Makinde London is an intriguing combo forward with interest from VCU and Tennessee.
London is currently receiving strong interest from VCU, Tennessee, Tennessee State, Wichita State, Marshall, Mississippi State, Murray State, Mississippi, Tennessee Tech, Jacksonville and East Carolina. And a couple of big names have checked in recently.

"Texas and Kansas State called me today,” added London, who played with the Nashville Celtics on the AAU scene. “The coaches are saying they are excited to see me play during July.

"I want to play for a coach who will help me develop as a player and person; someone who will really support me. I want to be in a good community and where they have a good finance and or engineering program."

London is a 6-foot-9, 195-pound combo forward with great length and plenty of tools to make plays. He is very athletic and a quick leaper who finishes at the rim thanks to his willingness to run the floor and ability to catch lobs in traffic. London makes spot-up and trail 3s and has a pretty good handle. His length and athletic ability allows him to be a good on-ball defender and weak side shot-blocker. London excels at rebounding in his area and gets to others utilizing his length as opposed to his strength. When using the proper techniques, London is capable of defending either forward position.

London is an intriguing prospect and has incredible upside but must work on adding strength, being a more consistent finisher and learning to play with a good base.

At times this spring, London’s play has left scouts and coaches saying, “Who’s that kid?” That won’t be the case if he can continue his high level of play in July and look for several offers to come in as a result.

Its been said, but not enough. If Shaka is interested, I'm interested.

Makinde London

I love guys like this. Completely off the radar, but you know are gonna blow up. He's not even rated by anyone except espn, and that's cause they happened to see him lay weekend and go oh sh!t

Hope Zo gets in on this guy, I love adding Tennessee guys.

Saw him play when he was 6'1" as a sophomore and he was already one of the top players in the district. Imagine he is quite a force after this growth spurt

but Shaka has time to develop projects, unfortunately CCM needs more impact players.

If there's one position where we can afford to take a 'potential' guy, it's on the wing. Most likely we'll be starting Richardson and Hubbs, and Cornish is coming in alongside him. There's also the chance that Derek Reese or AJ Davis earn significant rotation time.

Guys with this kind of upside are uncommon. I'd take him, even if it means he doesn't contribute as a freshman (which isn't necessarily true anyway).

Imagine a front line of Skal Labissiere, London and Cofer. That would be impressive, but I hear we got a lot of work to even get a visit out of Skal.

True, we aren't even in the honorable mention category for Skal.

That one will come down to Kentucky and Memphis...which should prove interesting.

Cal doesn't lose many guys he truly wants or has targeted for more than 6 months...however the memphis "insider" says HE.IS.MEMPHIS.BOUND.

Andrew Wiggins? Shabazz Muhammad? Anthony Bennett? Trae Golden?

Can we just go ahead and make Vic Wharton recruiting coordinator of both football and basketball and maybe all Tennessee sports?

odds are that Skal transfers to a prep school... so that would prob take memphis out of it...

He lost wiggins because he reclassified. Muhammad was bought. He wasn't all out on Bennett as a big, that would be Noel. Not sure wtf you're referring to with golden.

Very rarely does calipari miss out on his #1 guy at each position....for 2015 that appears to be Skal. If you think Pastner gets him, more power to you for having that kinda confidence.

Do people argue just to argue on these boards? In the last 5 years, Cal probably has a couple of the best classes in college basketball history, and you pick out a couple of players he may have missed on? Bottom line is he gets a high percentage of players that he wants.

The kicker being hes a Memphis fan. I somewhat get coming to a rival board to defend your team or coach, but now you wanna argue about $hit vol fans are discussing? You don't see this on tiger boards I can assure, so what is it about Tennessee that these Memphis guys just can't stay away?
