How can I lose 20 lbs before pool/lake season? Haha. But, seriously. I hear eating right and regular exercise help, but I'm afraid that's a fad.
Very true. Lost 30 pounds in a year. Now I'm around 180 with 15%. I wish I had coach Lawsons workout. I'd probably explode to 220, because I can fit a lot more on my frame.
I'm ready to see his first run in the spring game. I think it will be obvious right off the bat whether he can hack it in this league or not. Something makes me think he is going to dominate like Gurley's running style.
No joke.
I have studied more about nutrition and working out than I care to admit. I'm finally getting some nice results on my cut, but when I hear about these cats gaining 10 pounds of muscle their first two weeks on campus, I just laugh and shake my head.

That's ridiculous.. he is a beast
It's like he's been doing nothing but arm and back workouts like 3x a week with heavy weight lol.. The rest of his body doesn't look that much different, but then again, we haven't seen his legs yet. The guy must be hitting up by hot women all over UT campus.
No joke.

I'd imagine that most SEC athletes already have the ideal body types for packing on muscle. They're probably in the top 1% of athletic body types in the world. So when you combine that with a perfect training/diet regimen, they're gonna blow up real fast.
There's a reason they're playing for UT and the rest of us are just watching them on TV.

I spent 5 months with a team in Europe and participated in their daily training and diet regimen. I was flat out ripped after those five months - best shape I had ever been in.
It is easy if you have the support of others and the time built into your day.
Yeah, having a trainer would be awesome. In my case though, just having a partner to push me both in and out of the gym again would be enough for me. I'm probably right around 12-14% and I could get back in the 8% range with a little push.
You're probably right as regards football. But if you really mean "the top 1% of athletic body types in the world" it depends on what sport. Bicyclists who compete in the Tour de France are considered the best conditioned athletes in the world. Of course their body type is basically long and slender. But even these guys would defer to certain people if those people joined the sport. To wit, the somewhat diminutive men AND women from South America and Asia who burden their backs and heads as well with heavy loads as they daily travel out of necessity up and down the Andes and Himalayan mountains. Imagine their lung capacity and leg strength. We already know that the daily swimmers and canoe paddlers of Polynesian are bulky and strong to start with. Point is, "1% body type" doesn't take into account groups that would outpace even athletes in certain sports. So if your comment refers only to football, I probably have to agree with you. But if you really meant athletes, depends on what sport you refer to. Some of the best body types don't even play the sports we're accustom to. SIGH, I think I've traveled too much and seen too much. Don't pay attention to me.
Nutrition is key, I just did a cut from 196 to 179 then put my the 18lbs back on. The type of protein really matters a lot. Also the type of regime you're on has a lot to do with how you look. I got big gains(BMI Decreased, big time core strength gains) from muscle confusion. Also make sure you actually rest muscles instead of just freelancing in there. Or working whatever feels good that day. And switch your cardio up with different types(hill sprints, flat sprints, kickboxing, and the bicycle are part of my personal rotation).
This. I change routines every six weeks but lift and do a min of 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week. Nutrition is huge. I'm also a supplement freak.
