After watching Hurd's highlights, He is ungodly. Speed and power. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts this year at some point. Don't get me wrong Lane was a 1,000 yard rusher last year but I don't see him edging out Jalen this year. Jalen is too good to not start this year. But I believe in the end, Butch will make the best decision. I have no doubt about that!

Lane wasn't a 1000 yard rusher. He rushed for like 534 yards last year. He may be this coming year, but IMO he won't stay healthy through the whole season. He hasn't done it yet so it wouldn't surprise me a bit if Hurd was starting by the time we were playing Ole Miss or Alabama. Just for the probability that Lane will be hurt.

Ungodly speed would be the 4.29 / 40 a RB put up at the combine yesterday. Jalen hasn’t done that. If he had, the UT coaches, fan and company would be taunting that all over creation. BTW, Lane didn't rush for 1K yards.

Lane is a proven SEC back, Jalen is not. Further, Lane is a senior and fully aware this is his do or die year if he has any notion of being drafted. He knows he can’t afford half-azzed efforts, off-season prepping, spring prepping, or granite-brained behavior. He knows it's not just Hurd and Scott, but Summerhill and Hill who have displayed ability to produce, will be pushing him for starts. Even Pickett, who if word leaking out is true, could be a secret weapon. If he let’s these guys so much as peek through a window of opportunity, he’s not starting.

Add to this the fact that last year Neal put in WORK and it showed and kept Lane on the bench for the most part. Neal was in such good shape that Jones left him in a game well beyond what he should have and while he was slightly injured and very fatigued. But Neal kept delivering and not asking for a breather. This lesson isn’t lost on Lane so expect him to put in WORK and make it count.

Like nearly everyone here, I have high hopes and faith in Hurd and Scott. I believe we finally have the RBs we used to in days of old. Big and fast guys who were a threat every time they got the ball. But this doesn’t mean throwing a proven SEC back under the bus. I believe that with Lane, The best is yet to come and we’ll see it this season. He fast, shifty, not afraid to hit seams and gaps between the tackles. He catches passes out of the backfield and if he has any decent space to run, he covers big chunks of yardage. Jalen has yet to prove anything at the SEC level, Marlin is already there.

Lane is not fast. Also, Summerhill and Hill? Lol

When did Jesse Pinkman join VN?
and a 4.37 electronically timed 40 at 17 yrs old and 230 lbs is pretty rare...

pretty sure there was a quote above mine...
reading comprehension isn't one of your strengths is it?
read all of the stupid remarks about shoulder injuries
and lowering your shoulder to protect the shoulder...
hence the why don't we just lead with the head remark...

a lot of these remarks are laughable at best...
might as well make light of the situation...

did someone leave the door open to the FF forum?

I'll get it. Come on guys. You know we can't let them wander around without supervision.

Marlin Lane better be working his ass off every single day if he wants to start. Can't wait to watch Hurd truck some fools in the SEC.
