I think people are reading to much into this season's vanilla style offense we saw. The guy is a good coordinator but can only give the players what they can grasp. Once they have a better grasp on the offense and more experience in the offense then he can do more creative things with them.

Have friends attending practices. They practice it all and much of the time it is executed fine. Jake chooses to go conservative in games. Some of the easiest plays to execute he rarely calls. A lot of this is on him. They had absolutely nothing to lose by opening it up more since nothing was expected out of this team this season.
I think Bajak likes to use the middle of the field. Used the TE a ton in prior stops. Not having a good TE and Devrin being didn't help an 18 yr old qb who you already have to be careful with about throwing over the middle. Its a concern for all young qbs.

How many times did Lane lose a fumble this year? I'm not sure where the ball security concerns are coming from.
