Neal did a good job this season. He had over 1,100+ yards on the year.

I think Marlin is definitely more of a true RB than Neal. He may lack top end speed, but he has a good initial burst, he doesn't get tripped up or arm tackled, and he seems to always fall forward.

I just think Hurd is the total package. Speed, power, and toughness.

SN: Marlin has a pretty sweet jump cut. He did it a couple times last night and ended up finding positive yardage.

Good. Someone needs to call out that arm tackler. Hurd will run him over if AJ doesn't learn to drive through

Arm tackling is a product of speed. When you're not fast enough to get into proper position you end up reaching.

Some of it also comes from our poor alley support and secondary contain. Our DBS have not been exceptional in run support. So the play isn't being turned back inside like it should.

Lane also has excellent vision. He does great job of finding the seam and hitting it. Lane always falls forward and moves the pile. I think Lane will have a big time senior season and get drafted fairly high.I believe he has the tools to be a big time NFL player.

He dances too much and has fumble problems.

Maybe last year but this year he has not danced around. He has done nothing but run North and South this year. Lane did fumble last night but over all I have not seen him fumble hardly none at all this year.

Hurd played in an offense in HS where he was lined up 7-8 yards behind the QB with a lead blocker. I'll bet CBJ and staff already have a section in their playbook specifically for Hurd since it would be a huge change for him to run from a read-option formation with no lead blocker. Cannot wait to see him play this spring and next fall!

AU uses a FB beautifully.

No he will be fine. Tissue takes about 6 weeks to heal then you can begin to build it up. He will be fine to play. Plus Jason and the guys at the Sports Med office will take good care of him

Luckily it is not a muscle pull as they have no clue how to freaking take care of those but surgically repaired issues they are fine with. :)

Priority this spring should be to find someone who can play the fullback position with his primary responsibility and talent to be blocking DEs and LBs.

Hurd is the type that takes the handoff and hits, where the hole is supposed to be, full speed with no hesitation or dancing.

Hurd's running style will be a refreshing change for UT. I think it will remind us all of the days when our RBs just punished people and eventually broke the will of the defense. I'm looking forward to it.

Hurd coming in this winter, being able to go through winter workouts and spring practice is huge. He'll be entering the fall almost like a redshirt freshman instead of a true freshman. I have no doubt he'll be a major contributer next season.

Lane will start. Hurd will get plenty of carries. All that needs to be known at this point.

I think Hurd starts. Lane is still a slightly above average SEC back. He has good vision and pushes people forward, but he's a step slower than Neil.

Hurd is like a combination of Neil and Lane. Actually, he might be even faster than Neil.
