Unless Beech develops a better offensive line in the next few weeks, it could be a difficult season for Jalen. From what I saw last night, I find it very likely that Jalen will not not come close to the numbers he had last season. I still think he was a man among boys on the field last night. He had a good burst when needed, very powerful runner, and very underrated as a safety on defense. Then again, it was only a scrimmage - did Beech game plan for this or just come out and run the basic offense? I Know that every defensive player for Ravenwood was determined to not let Jalen have anything. This is something that Jalen will have to face every week - teams will stack everything they have to not get beat by him alone. I am looking forward to week 0 when Beech plays at Station Camp (Sunday morning game carried by ESPNU or ESPN3) to see how the team and Jalen does for a game that actually counts in the standings.

Playing a lot of safety this year will also cut down on his rushing production. Bad for rivals ratings, but insignificant in the grand scheme of his college position projection. Very glad we got this guy. Used to think there was no chance he landed in Knoxville.

Beech is playing Station Camp next Sunday and will be on Espn2. My church which is extremely large is having a special tailgate service on saturday because of it. If that doesnt say future five star vol nothing does.

This is a BIG IF but, what if Hurd got to 6'4" and weighed around 235-240 by the time he gets here. Would we still use him at RB?

Personally I hope he stays the size he is right now. That way when he gets here he can either run over people or leave them in the dust.

That size RB works fine for the Giants.
