We do have a backup QB (Parker Henry) that will be able to get the job done. He is not as physical as our QB from last year, but he is quick, mobile and has decent accuracy. You are correct about Hurd lining up in the wildcat though as he will do that. He took a snap once during the scrimmage and went for about 50 yards.

They will have Hurd play every position this year; he will be all over the field. The goal is to only use him enough to win ball games and keep him healthy for college.

I'll be the first to admit I wasn't thrilled when you posted he'll be playing safety this year. But, he obviously wants to give his all for his team, and I can't fault him for that. It also sounds like the coaches are very cognizant of his situation, which is good to know.

VOL74, ant update on Cortez MsDowell or any other recruits?

No word on McDowell, but we are looking very good with Truitt right now (along with Hardin, Freeman, Parks & Doss).

I completely agree, but Beech will not win ball games without him back there. Just the reality of their situation right now.

The game that I am ready to see is Beech vs. Station Camp (first game of the season - supposed to be carried on ESPN). With Hurd playing safety, we'll see what Josh Malone is really made of. He's already commented that he intends on "hurting some feelings" in that game.

Kendrick Doss would be HUGE

How does the new o-line look? You guys are replacing 4 starting lineman, correct?

Correct. Pretty rough right now. Let's just hope it gets better. Oakland is such a tough team with great lines that it was hard to gauge how well they actually did. We'll have a better idea after the scrimmage this week.

No worries? You are literally the only one worrying.

I deleted a bunch of posts about her last night, including a provocatively posed picture of her that someone apparently found somewhere on the internet, and a whole bunch of posts by other people questioning the fact that people were talking about her. That argument is how I found myself in this thread to begin with.

If you don't understand why a board moderator ought to be concerned about discussion about and pictures of an underage girl on the internet, then either you have no moral compass at all, or the 13 in your username stands for your age.

The only picture I saw was Jalen at his prom in orange and white.

That's pretty beneficial that they got to scrimmage Oakland and the Smith bros. Here in Texas we just have inter squad scrimmages in the spring.

Yeah, as a vol fan we all hope that line gets better in a hurry so they can keep our star recruit safe. Also, should be interesting to see how much of the load Dorian Carter shoulders. He's a good back in his own.

She's only 16!?!?!?! Holy crap. She looks nothing short of my age (23).

I'm 22. When I go to high school football games (or even middle school one's anymore...) I have to remind myself "Yeah, you go to jail for most of these girls, don't even bother."

There's something in the water these days. 12 looks 16 and 16 looks 20, and it wasn't like that when I was growing up.

But, if anyone ever needed proof that girls (especially young ones) flock to power/money/fame, right here is proof. That girl could go to prom with anyone at that school, and she went with the one who got her the most publicity.

Hate to change gears on such an excellent discussion of Hurd's football abilities, but....

Was watching the Marcus Dupree 30/30 for about the fourth time last night and they mentioned in high school he was 6-3, 230. Unbelievable ability to slip and slide through traffic, then explode past everybody else.

Hopefully this is Hurd's only career comparison ever to Dupree, but there is an eery similarity in their size and skill set at the same stage. Man, that guy could run. If you have never seen that show, watch it some time.

Hurd looks way leaner than Dupree did in that film so that's kind if surprising. Is he really 230?

Maybe it's just the film and the fact that he was way taller than everyone.

Yeah, I'm sure you are right. They probably did not even know each other until he got an offer and committed to TN.

Seriously?

Vol Nation needs to show up big in Thompson Station on Spetember 13th when Beech plays Independence. By then, we'll hopefully have 3 commitments on the field with Hurd, Wharton, and Gaulden.

How early would a person have to get there to get a seat for that game? Probably be twice the seating capacity there!

If she's a model, and her parents signed a letter of consent for it especially, then as long as she's not doing Jenna Jameson stuff, the pictures are completely legal and able to be viewed anywhere at any time if they are open to the public (that includes, bikini, underwear, "tasteful nudes" are even legal in lots of states if you do some law research) assuming that their goal isn't strictly sexual in nature. The comments might be too much (but even they could be discarded as fictional fantasy or freedom of speech, etc, because you can't really arrest a person on their claims that they would do something, barring death threats of course) but the pictures should be protected by law and not even worth worrying about, especially if parents signed a contract.

but I can see why you guys would be worried, but legally at least, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

A good seat or a seat? For a good seat at the minimum an hour.. for any seat no later than 30 minutes before kickoff should net a you a seat.

I think you are missing the point.
