Does beach play Brentwood this year by any chance? If not, where are some games close to Nashville that I can attend?

My general belief is that internet-stalking and posting pictures of high school girls who are dating high school recruits crosses the line, regardless of whether anything inappropriate is said. We're not going to (knowingly) allow people to Google up players' girlfriends and post pictures of them on this message board.

However, the fact that this particular girl is apparently a professional (?) model does muddy the waters a little bit, since she is already putting herself out there in the public eye deliberately. I guess it's all right to talk about her as long as people aren't idiots about it. And nobody would ever behave like an idiot in the recruiting forum.

Personally, I thought Volnation would enjoy seeing Mr. Hurd wearing UT orange and white to the prom - nothing more, nothing less. And I don't have to internet stalk as I took the picture, and no, that is not his girlfriend. They're only friends. If you do not like it or it is offensive to you, take it down.

I'm not offended; I don't know the backstory. I'm just saying that as a general policy, discussing underage girls on this board because they know/date high school players is out of bounds.

I didn't have a problem with you posting the prom picture, but once people started talking about who and how hot they think she is, googling for more pictures, etc., that's over the line. Except that she models, so maybe it isn't. As I said, a grey area. No worries.

Hate to change gears on such an excellent discussion of Hurd's football abilities, but....

Was watching the Marcus Dupree 30/30 for about the fourth time last night and they mentioned in high school he was 6-3, 230. Unbelievable ability to slip and slide through traffic, then explode past everybody else.

Hopefully this is Hurd's only career comparison ever to Dupree, but there is an eery similarity in their size and skill set at the same stage. Man, that guy could run. If you have never seen that show, watch it some time.

If I'm not mistaken, Beech's QB was a Senior... I was talking to a guy at Church last night that knows high school football in TN better than just about anyone, and he posed a rhetorical question that has me very curious. Is there a possibility that Hurd plays QB this year with Dorian Carter playing RB? (Dorian Carter was Hurd's backup, and had several 100+ yard games IIRC) I could easily see Hurd running the wildcat, or even the option out of the wing-t that Crabtree likes to use occasionally.

We do have a backup QB (Parker Henry) that will be able to get the job done. He is not as physical as our QB from last year, but he is quick, mobile and has decent accuracy. You are correct about Hurd lining up in the wildcat though as he will do that. He took a snap once during the scrimmage and went for about 50 yards.

They will have Hurd play every position this year; he will be all over the field. The goal is to only use him enough to win ball games and keep him healthy for college.
