I dont believe he was going 100% tonight either. I thought the same thing, but I believe it was probably on purpose. He's been beat up pretty good here lately, and this week would've be a good time to heal and take it easy. Heads will roll next week against Hendersonville though - know that!:dance2:

there is a recruiting article on him on espn. Its an insider article so i don't have access to the full article. Anyone who subscribes care to summarize?

RB Jalen Hurd emerges with monster year - On The Trail Blog - ESPN

:hi:

Word is that his back was hurting him a little, so they relied less on Hurd than normally last night in order to have him at 100% for Hendersonville next week

He's definitely as good as what everyone said he is. The first TD he had it looked like he was going at half speed and we still couldn't catch him. If he wasn't 100% and still did that to us last night, I hate to think what would have happened if he was 100%. I would love to see the game with Hendersonville next week.

Interesting note on Hurd.

I am a swim coach in club swimming along with high school (Wilson Central). The co-owner of my club team is the Beech coach this year. Jalen is swimming when football season ends October-January for his HS.

Just saw Jalen Hurd (from Beech) tonight beat up on Hendersonville. He is the real thing. Hope we can KEEP him in orange in 2014!

(merge if necessary!)

I saw him tonight also this kid is the real deal. When Beech needed a big play, he always came through. I would like to know what his stats were tonight.

No way he's way to good for vandy. Heard Saban is on this kid hard

Saban is pulling Jones, Tenpenny, and Henry this year. He already has Bo Scarbrough for 2014, and is probably going to add Rock Thomas soon for 2014. If Hurd wants to play RB and voluntarily puts himself in that kind of logjam for PT, he deserves what he gets, be it good or bad.

As mentioned beforehand the Beech/H'ville game was intense. Jalen helped the Bucs pull it out though with 4 TDs, 3 on the ground one through the air. If you wanna know if this kid's the real deal, then this was that game. He had just over 200 yards and he earned every single one of them. The run that really stood out and proved this kids legitimacy was on a 4th and 3 inside their own 20. A ridiculously risky call but when they gave Jalen the ball he stuck his pads down, kept his legs chruning, and picked up about 10 yards all while dragging three H'ville defenders with him.

In all , this kid is the real deal and loves this game, getting him should be a high priority.

Saban is recruiting him as an athlete. But it may hurt UA's chances in the end.

“Athlete is something I don’t mind being labeled and being recruited to go to that college to play because I can come in and prove my point of what I can play and what I can’t play,” Hurd said. “It’s not that big of a deal, but I may show other schools a little more interest because they’re recruiting me as a running back.
“I’m trying to prove the point that I’m a big guy, and I can run the ball. I’m just trying to show that by my stats.”

I put this in the other thread but Saban is recruiting Hurd as an athlete which may hurt UA's chance in getting him.

This is what I think sets the Tide back as well. Jalen is dead set on being a RB or a least getting a good shot at playing there. Though that gives UT a better chance I don't know what's going to happen now that the UF offer is in the fold

seems Saban just picks and chooses, CJG, get to work man, we still can't run the ball

Orange sure does look good on this kid! I'm still hoping to see him run through the T in a couple years.
