No UT offer yet but Cincy was his first offer at their camp.

Paul Adams Sophomore Highlight - YouTube

"As someone who lives in Tennessee getting interest from the Vols is very exciting to me," Adams said.

Adams and new Tennessee special teams coach Mark Elder built a solid relationship while Elder was with the Bearcats and that relationship has already started to carry over into Elder's new job.

"I was hearing from them a lot the past few days," Adams said. "Especially Coach Elder, he was my primary recruiter at Cincinnati and it's good to know he's still interested."

With basketball season in full swing Adams hasn't had much time to rest, but he said he's looking forward to working hard in the offseason to earn an offer from Tennessee.

"Coach Jones believed in me before and I didn't think he was going to change schools but it's great that he's at Tennessee now," Adams said. "He get to come and watch me play and visit me because he's closer and that's something I'm looking forward to."

I will agree that 245 is a bit small, and he does have the rest of his junior year to put on plenty of weight, but Butch Jones' system requires speed up front not size. I say he will end up putting on 20 lbs by the end of his senior year and by the time he gets to play his first snap in college. If he does go to UT its not like he will see the field right off the bat.

This is not a classic redshirt situation. If you are an OL in the in the SEC under 300 you will be eaten alive. He should be reevaluated after his senior season to see if he has progressed. Switching to DE is a real possibility or if he is around 275 but next summer then offer the kid.

edit: We don't need mediocre talent.

D.J. Humphries was listed at 265 when he graduated and was the number 1 tackle in the nation last year. If Im not mistaken, he also had a couple of snaps as a true freshman down at Florida. If this kid has smooth and quick feet, I don't see a problem taking a look at him. He could eventually gain a good 15 to 20 pounds by he graduates. IMO. Also im not trying to compare skill level between the two, just the measurables.

We all know rivals profile statistics are trust worthy. Jalen Reeves Mabin runs a 4.8 fourty on his rivals profile. I like this kid, I think he is talented, and I want him.

He'll add weight once he hangs up the basketball sneakers and gets into the weight room full time. no worries here

That's exactly what I was about to say. Basketball involved a lot of running and cardio and probably keeps him from adding bulk.

No brainer. Lock him up. If he plays basketball he is likely to be very well coordinated with good feet and hands. Get in the weight room and he will pack the muscle and pounds on when basketball is out of his system. Can he be an EE?

Keep in mind that Jones and co. don't necessarily want the gigantic linemen to run the zone blocking scheme, they may prefer guys around 285 who can move.
