'14 TN DT/OL Bruno Reagan

I hope he kicks ass & takes names... big mistake not offering him a scholly, imho

+1

If we can take a project like Dews, we sure could take a local kid who could contribute on the line on either side of the ball. I think Bruno has a high up side and will do very well in college.

I find it odd that when a recruit, not so high on our list commits elsewhere, everyone wishes him good luck.

However, when someone that we really wants goes elsewhere, we bash them.

Just an observation.

You don't see the difference between the:

...Cute chick that you never got around to asking out.

and the

...Knock-out that you kept asking out, who eventually turned you down for the guy that kicked sand in your face in 9th grade?

I agree. if Dews is good enough, this kid sure as hell is.

apples and oranges

It's rare to see a "project" lineman unless coaches are moving him from TE....the potential for a kid (16 yrs old) like Dews and the potential for a guy that is most likely physically mature like Reagan are night and day.

Not to mention Dews could be seen as a very specialized player and not be asked to play every down.

still rather have the Lineman right now.just my opinion.

Reagan turned 17 in late May and is still growing; he's only 6 months older than Dews. Both have excellent potential.

Sorry guys had to chance my name due to a contract obligation. So I am no longer Clarksville Budo. Thanks for all the support and well wishes for Bruno. I will give you the best update possible. He is a strong commit to South Florida and is playing at about 310lbs. He is still getting recruited by a lot of schools and some SEC schools. Yes the University of Tennessee is one of them. He has been getting request for visits but not sure if he is going to take them. I am sure they will be people fighting to the end to get him to flip but who knows if they will be successful. He is some updated film Bruno Reagan - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl

Hope he does well wherever he ends up playing college ball. Like the fact the kid could play on either line and would do well. Would not have hurt my feelings at all had we taken him.

For those who pm me asking to see Bruno's camp video this is all I could find. Not his best of the day but all the same. Sorry it took so long. Also he is wrestling just takes him some time to get from 320 to 285. Instagram

How does he plan on dropping 35 lbs in such a short timeframe, without losing significant amounts of muscle?

This is why as a football coach, I truly hate wrestling. Bruno should be getting stronger right now, not starving himself.

Depends on if he wants to wrestle at 285 or walk at 285. If he cuts to 305, he can cut 20 lbs fairly easy week to week before matches.

Btw, why haven't we offered? At this size, this dude is a freaking ATHLETE! Judo and wrestling champion. Cmon, that's serious balance and athleticism.

I think it was more that they already offered others and did not expect him to dominate at camp like he did. They need tackles bad and Bruno is a guard/ center. It will work out well in the end.

Let him play DT, heck DE or even TE with his athleticism...haha

He had developed and puberty has kicked it. He does not look like the kid that attended camp. Here he is at his hydration test at 310.

20lbs in one week? There is no way that's safe.

When I wrestled I went from 136lbs to 119lbs in 24hrs.I ate to much over the weekend when I had to lose the weight.Went to school Monday and checked my weight and was like oh crap but made weight on Tuesday. For a heavy weight that would be pretty easy.

Wrestling is by far the best sport to participate in during the off-season. Especially for lineman and linebackers. Plus, 35 lbs for someone his size is an easy drop. You'd be surprised how much weight falls off when you practice consistently.NFL coaches love former wrestlers too.
