I understand that, it's his decision and he's gotta be comfortable. But if he's got the potential that has been portrayed on here, then he's really rushing into that decision before his best opportunities are presented. Hope he's thinking clearly and being given good advice/direction.
I think that early offer means a lot to some kids. I can see how some recruits would see the early offer as a school who really wants/needs you and is willing to show it early. Is an offer from a top 20 program who is slow playing you while they see if they can land a higher rated kid always better? If a school slow plays you and only offers after they have missed on 5-6 other kids, I think the chance your recruited over the following year goes way up. Would love to see Bruno as part of our class. I can respect his decision if he takes an offer that is available now though. What happens when he attends camp and an offer does not come? What if his spot at the school he is close to choosing is taken by the next kid on their board?

If the kid likes the school, the coaches, and the opportunity, maybe he feels it's in his best interest to commit now and have his place at the table.
He better really like those schools because if he feels those will be his best offers then he must not have much confidense in his ability.
It's hard for me to see those schools filling up and turning anyone away. To be the best you have to play the best. If he wants to settle and not earn a spot then let him.
I wish him the best but alot of guys have had to camp before. It may be changing but if you are from TN and UCONN gets you excited and it is for football..........well just saying.
Maybe you don't give much credit to his offers he has now. Maybe he does. Looking at it as a college football fan and not just a Vol fan, accepting an offer from a school that has you as their #1 makes a lot of sense VS hoping another team does not get who they really want and has a spot to take you late. I doubt it has anything at all to do with his confidence in his ability. "Come to camp and earn an offer" a lot of times is just a slow play tactic a lot of schools/coaches use. Bruno has went to other camps and shown out from what I have read. If he feels he has done enough and is ready to decide, I wish him nothing but the best.
It's still too early in the process for a kid to give up on bigger schools to "secure" a spot at a lesser program. UT will hand out numerous more offers in the next couple of months and that doesn't necessarily mean they missed on better prospects.
Tennessee has offered around 30 OL guys so far for this class. They have offered around 20 DTs in this class so far. If there are 50 guys considered takes right now and I as a recruit was not one of them, I might tend to look around for who has made me a priority. Every situation is different when it comes to recruiting. As I have said, I wish this kid ended up in Orange.
If this was November then I can agree, but coaches know alot can happen between now and February. Some kids blow up their senior year and earn an offer. Some are now just gaining the weight they will carry in college. This principle especially applies to linemen. A WR or DB has a smaller chance to improve over the next 8 months than an OT.
His judo background should actually help a lot with blocking. U learn how to keep ur footing, while knocking the other guy off balance.. I sparred a judo blackbelt a while back and was shocked by the things he knew.
You do realize WKU made a bowl last year and sacked McCarron more than any other team Alabama played? If Dooley was coaching against Petrino, I'd probably take WKU.
