Meredith can not stay healthy.
Downs is entering his JR year.
Quinn is a project. Safe to hedge your bets with that.

Makes perfect sense why we are recruiting tight ends.

^^^^ This. We do not have an experienced TE and only have one that is a legit TE that can stay healthy.

From 247's coverage of the Memphis Nike Camp this past weekend:

That's awesome to hear. I like that he worked out at DE and was effective.

Out of curiosity, what type of prospect would he be compared to at the DE position? How about a Jason Hatcher type from last year?

Derrick Morgan, imo.

When talking versatile prospects, Barnett has to be included. He is being recruited for offense and defense, but he showed Sunday he is pretty good on the defensive line. Out of the talented DLs Sunday, he proved to be the best technician. He had moves off the ball and he surprised some with his quickness.

Is that good? Does he still play for the Titans? Just haven't noticed whether or not he's still on the 53 man roster. For sure haven't seen him with 10 feet of a quarterback since 2009 or so.

Like your posts a bunch, KB, but this one is silly. Good college football players don't pan out in the NFL. Doesn't diminish what they did in college though.

Derrick Morgan tore his ACL rookie year and struggled coming back in 2011. Last season though, he finished with about 6 sacks, but was near the top in QB Pressures/Hurries. Derrick will be good for the Titans if his progression keeps up.

If Barnett could be nearly as good as Morgan was in college, we'd be in a good position.

I know Volin, got a little carried away. My apologies. He was a great college player and he did take some pretty big strides last year. Hope he's healthy this year and gets closer to the potential we all thought he had on draft day. I've heard him interviewed, seems like a good kid.

Thanks wU, good to get some insight on this kid. Ohio State fan though? Jeez. Know CBJ is gonna be a little busy on Sat but I hope he cleared his schedule for a little quality time with Derek -no homo- so he can get to know him better and drop a solid verbal. Listening to guys who've seen him play makes me believe this kid could be an eventual cornerstone for our D.

Lemme guess, once upon a time there was this baker, see?.....

Story sounds familiarly tragic somehow

I did see a commercial on TV where the Pillsbury Doughboy is going through the airport. IMO, CBJ has put him to work on the recruiting trail. TIFWIW.
