'14 TN DB Rashaan Gaulden (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Guys... Seriously D.J. Smith will earn a 5th star by the end of his senior season. Cobb County, Georgia is one of the best counties for football in the country. D.J. is incredibly fast and is a ball-hawk. He comes from the same division and sub-region Brian Randolph comes from. Do NOT doubt Cobb County players... We need D.J. As bad as any defensive player in the nation.

Who is doubting him?

Live 10 mins away. This dude is right except for the people doubting him.

I haven't heard doubts, and if someone is they don't know wtf they are talking about. Btw Gaulden and Smith are a good possibility. We lead for both...

Well not so much doubting but I guess them wanting Gaulden instead of Smith. I'd love to have both of those guys in the secondary, but I think D.J. will be a monster pickup if we get him.

I hear you. I really think we get both. Both are medium caliber 4* guys at WORST . They both can be ballers at the next level.

People who are saying they'd rather have Gaulden and not Smith. Smith is better, but we stand a chance at landing both of them.

No one is doubting Smith. I will say this though and you can take it how you want. But Gaulden has more potential than Smith at CB. Both are good players though.

Both will do. Both have the tools to be really good.

Not to argue. But I live I cobb and have for years. I would not say cobb has the best ball in the state. Brain Randolph played for kell. Which is a school that has a year here and there. Same for Walton, Lassiter has been good lately. But overall I just don't know what schools you are talking about producing this top talent and I'm very active in the community. I would say Fulton has double the winning teams that cobb county does. We have to many schools in cobb so the talent is spread out all over the county. ESP. Linemen.

Agree. Fulton and maybe even Dekalb produce more talent than Cobb.

Gwinnett has the best combo of talent and coaching in Atl hands down.
After Gwinnett, Dekalb, Fulton, Cobb, Fayette and Clayton counties. If I had to rank them based on talent, level of comp and coaching. Wouldn't even be close if Dekalb had any coaching to the talent in that county.

bust might've been the wrong word, then. my point is that recently we seem to have the most high profile players that have high profile issues and don't finish out at UT (Janzen Jackson, Bryce brown, da'rick Rogers).

Nukeese and Demetrice? Morley fall under this list too

For the record, Morley would have been great (I mean GREAT) if he was in a different system. Swain and Riggs said he could've been better than Eric Berry.

He would've been great if he didn't rob a guy in Florida for $37 his senior year in 09

Kell has been to the playoffs for 6 straight seasons... And Fulton better than Cobb? Not at all. The only counties better than Cobb are Gwinnett and Lowndes.

Cobb over Dekalb? lol Tucker alone kills any Cobb program..not to even add Stephenson and MLK.

Cobb has some solid programs like Marietta, Kell, Wheeler, Hillgrove, North Cobb and some others but Fulton has solid program and produce more D1 talent...Creekside,Marist, St.X, Tri-Cites, Milton, Huges, Grady and the Alpharetta shools are all "Fulton" county...if you mean "city of Atlanta or APS" then I agree.

look, im not talking bad about our area. Just telling the truth, we have some soft schools and most schools line in are area are very undersized. Kell has been 6 yrs in a row, and all but two of those teams were average as hell at best with a few players that had D 1 talent. No state championships is what im talking about. Harrison fell off, along with a bunch of programs that had a few years there for awhile. But you are right there is alot of talent, its just spread over about 8 teams in the area. where the dekalb and fulton games I attend the kids look bigger and faster and more talent overall. Might be they take it more serious than the kids out this way just not sure. Just stating what I see when I compare areas. i think H. Gators list is pretty spot on actually.

Agree with u on this

Yes finally figured out how to post on here (the whole register thingy I had to do) but I may be alone in my thinking here. With the new defensive system being installed, wouldn't it be to our advantage to take as many DB's and convert the "bigger" ones to OLB's. With the speed they have to fly to the ball and disrupt the backfield. It will be easy for a lot of these young men to add a good 20-25 lbs of muscle mass. So am I crazy? Be gentle it's my first time
