I'm pretty confident Vic will be a Vol. He's as good on offense as he is defense. Probably has a higher ceiling at DB.

It's very encouraging to see a coach talk about "locking down the state" and actually follow through because we start getting the kids in our own backyard it will go a long way to getting back to relevancy.

Why does everyone like this kid so much more than Josh Smith?

DD was an idiot for offering Smith, but was also an idiot for not offering Vic? Smith looks much better to me.

I've seen both play. Vic is certainly a better overall pure athlete, but it wouldn't surprise me if Smith had a better career here. That being said, I like both, and do believe that Vic has a higher ceiling.

I think everybody likes him because he's a legacy(I think), highly-rated (4 star on Rivals), and from my personal experience I saw him play basketball last year in the Arby's Classic in Bristol TN. You could tell he was a great athlete and was a very physical basketball player. Not that the second translates but just something I noticed. He's got good film too.

are you really questioning why people would be excited about a kid with game changing speed and ability ...

I recall the Vonn Bell thread playing out much the same. "He is all Vol, just waiting on that offer". "The kid is sitting by the phone". 11 months later, we are still waiting. :eek:lol:

We'll see how this one plays out.

Happy to see this kid finally got his offer. I also agree with whoever stated that CBJ is going to be huge in the state of TN. That is going to be a big difference between this staff and the last staff.

IMO Smith is just as athletic with better hands. I've seen him pay in person though so maybe I'm biased. I like Vic too, just don't see them as that different. Same size, similar speed, Smith has better hops from what I saw, Wharton is a little quicker. People forget Smith was rated one of the top athletes at hthe Nike combine, and watching him play you can see it.
