Still not impressed. Mediocre 3A schools. Alcoa is the only decent 3A school in the state. I am sure the kid is good, but I can't understand the hype with the lack of of stats. Passing is low, rushing is low, and 13 TDs on the year? I'm not sold on him being a top prospect. He hasn't earned it.

People put way to much stock in stats on here. As far as competition goes, it's above average by Tennessee standards.

Hmmm, if you compare him to the other 2014 prospects that are getting offers at 15-16 years old, then yeah, I would be turning up my nose.

"It's been pretty crazy. He just keeps talking to me about playing together again. He's been talking about me playing with him again," Wharton said. "We played little league football together in sixth grade and since then we've always talked about how we were going to UT. But, we didn't know we were going to have all these offers, too."

Yeah to bad his Freshman year he was one of the best WR in the district and he played for Catholic.

Per article on 247, Wharton has always thought since he was little that he would play at Tennessee. The staff is wanting him to come for a visit on April 6th to visit w/ the coaches & watch a practice. He said even though he has always wanted to play at Tennessee he doesn't know if thats where he will go b/c he is getting all these offers & he needs to choose the best place for him. Wharton said his uncle (Brandon Wharton, PG for b-ball team 95-99) wants him to go to Tennessee & is always talking about it, he doesn't want him to go to Vandy b/c he hates them.
