Tight End
Bamberg, S.C.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt
HT: 6'1
WT: 215
Class: 2014

I know it's early for a thread on a '14 prospect but he attended a camp & was showing out.

Rivals Profile

Observations: Crosby is only a freshman but he looks like a rising senior and carries himself like a prospect that has been to many of these camps. However, this was his first big camp against older players and he easily stood out. It's clear that he will continue to grow and has a good frame to do so, but it is his ability to separate and his reliable hands that stand out. Crosby, like Aiken, showed up late and missed the testing, but he warmed up quickly in drills. He was among the top tight ends at the event and clearly the one with the biggest ceiling.

This guy is gonna be sick. Lots of schools have jumped on him early in hopes to secure him. His understanding of the game is unbelievable for his age.

Now holds offers from Pitt, Clemson, USCjr, & Illinois. Crosby said he wants to play TE in college, he wants to go to a school that utilizes the TE alot & gets him the ball.

Was at camp

The prospect described Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley as "an awesome guy," adding: "He likes to keep you going. He likes competition, too. He likes to see you fight."

Crosby also was impressed with Tennessee's campus and 102,000-seat Neyland Stadium.

"Ah, the campus is beautiful," he said. "And I ain't never seen a stadium this big."

His offer list so far is better than a few 4*'s this year. This kid must be the tits.

A player who figures to be among the South's top prospects in the class of 2014 (he already has more than a dozen offers), the 6-2, 225-pound Crosby's future likely is at inside linebacker. But on Friday, with his team facing an opponent that likes to pass, Crosby mostly saw action at tight end and didn't disappoint. Not only was his in-line blocking key in the Red Raiders' solid running game, he also caught three passes and averaged 20-plus yards per reception. Crosby is physically advanced, and uses his strength well to get defenders off-balance. As a receiver, his routes were precise, and because he has powerful legs he isn't easy to tackle. He used his hands and a solid first move to get off the line well.

"I went to Tennessee when I was a freshman with Martin Aiken and David Deleon. I played some d-line then and they told me they want to see me come back," Crosby said. "Then they saw my film from this year and they said they want to see me come back and work out at tight end and linebacker so I'll probably go up there in July."

When in Knoxville last summer, Crosby said it had a familiar feel.

"It was really nice down there. It kind of reminded me of home, kind of country," Crosby said.

Alabama is the early favorite. Clemson is number 2, South Carolina also has a shot.

A lot of schools are recruiting him as a LB but he prefers TE/H-back at this point. Both Bama and SC are recruiting him on offense (SC has told him he can play whatever position he prefers and I would guess Bama has also).
