Currently our recruiting class is ranked #14 by rivals. I think this may be more due to quantity instead of quality. I would like to think that if we are at #14 right now, and can add a couple of players like Berry, Donald, and maybe a surprise, then we could easily have a top 10 class.

Trust me. Add in Berry, Donald, Walker, a highly rated WR, a couple highly rated DTs, and a couple good players and our class will skyrocket.

do you guys see who's ahead of us? Of course if some guys like Berry, Austin, Donald, come our way we'll move up, but even then we'll probably still be behind UF, UGA, LSU, Auburn, and of all teams OLE MISS. You guys will say everything's fine, but Im asking you to consider the fact that Tennessee is now looking up at OLE MISS!!!!

Ah heck, let's see how it ends up before we go jumping off bridges because we're ranked behind some SEC school by a few spots. These projected rankings of how players will be are silly, anyway.

Probably not. I suppose Phil and Co. should just give up on this class and let ND take Donald, UGA/USC take Berry, Bama/FSU take Walker and so forth because it doesn't matter. Why don't you check out one of the most disappointing classes in UT history(they ended up with a NC)? It ended up with Al Wilson, Leonard Little, and other studs. We had the top class 2 years ago(UF was in the botton of the top 10 if that). That hasn't exactly panned out 100% for us yet. No reason to count your chickens before they hatch.

Go ask FSU about checking the rankings at this point. They are never in the top 10 until the end and make a huge push. We are usually like that and I suspect(with all the studs on our board) this year will be no different.

I promised I wouldn't talk about where our class is ranked until February, but I just need to say this...

Who cares where our class is ranked? Sure, we'd all rather finish #1 than number #14, but in the end, does it really matter? Our 2005 class is ranked #1, and what have they done? Only a few of them are starting, and 2 of the more highly ranked prospects from that class (Demonte Bolden, Demetrice Morley) are moving closer and closer to being busts.

Our 2004 class was ranked #11, and look at some of the players from that class: 5* Jesse Mahelona (NFL), 4* Erik Ainge, 4* Jerod Mayo, 4* Xavier Mitchell, 4* Jonathan Hefney, 3* Arian Foster, 2* Inky Johnson, 2* Chris Brown, 2* Ryan Karl

All those guys have started and made a big impact on our team.

Wait till they get on the field before you get all upset about it.

Bolden and Morley are true sophomores. It is stupid to call them busts this early. Alot of big time players didn't emerge until their junior(and sometimes senior) year.

Calm down, Ole Miss is not ahead of us right now. Nobody is because nobody has one single signature yet. Ole Miss will not finish the year with a stronger class than us when all is said and done. I doubt that UGA will even be ahead of UT when all is said and done. UF, LSU, and AU will be ahead of us most likely, but not by much.

how when we have a bust year, we dont even make the top 25, when GA has a bust year just as bad, they are #3?

Because of the rankings of the player's in their state. We take alot of players from instate and you see what we get(3 *s). Pretty much the same caliber of player, just different home state. They are also getting 3 highly rated players out of prep school.

Exactly, what he said. Bolden had his best game last week and is supposed to play even more this week. Morley is playing well, just needs to go to class more. :birgits_giggle:

Until Eli Manning has a son, Ole Miss will not be anywhere near Tennessee.

also, they's no way we come close to UF's class or UGA's unless a miracle happens, but hey, I believe in miracles:rock:

We will not end up close to UF, they will be Top 3 without a doubt. But, I think when all is said and done we could be close to UGA. They are going to lose some recruits between now and February.

After they destroyed Au yesterday and we looked as stellar as we did against Arky, I have no confidence in us getting anyone from Richt/Garner/UGA.
