could be al Wilson 2.0 but I would at least find out what he could do at RB before giving up on him at that position.
What recruiting agencies were there back then? I know rivals has been around for a long time, but there database only goes back to 2002.

You had Superprep, Jeff Whittaker's Deep South Recruiting, and that Bama homer Forrest Davis in addition to NRA. Seems like there was one other, but Bobby Burton was always the best.
Btw, Whittaker had Wilson rated 9.75 out of 10, and Davis had him 4 stars IIRC.
Is Clark really in Wilson's league?
Totally agree. Burton to this day is/was the best talent evaluator there has been.
Back then he consistently rated guys high 4's or 5 stars who turned out to be All-American's in college that the other services completely missed on. Shaun Ellis was a perfect example of that.
Out of curiosity, how can one access those older ratings and rankings?Rivals was the National Recruiting Advisor back when Al Wilson was in high school. It was run by Bobby Burton and Jeremy Crabtree who then changed the name to Rivals in the late 90's. He was rated by them as the #1 SS in the country, 5* 6.1 and #25 overall prospect in the nation. Back then they broke down the safety positions into both FS and SS where now Rivals lists all the safeties together.
Appears that we dont have any interest in the kid
