'14 OK QB David Cornwell

Worley has had chances to start a few times and didn't really impress o&w game was a not a good performance for either QB but as a junior whose started 5 games already I expected more from Worley. Who knows it could be our lack of healthy receivers and I hope if he starts he is beastmode but given what I've seen im not a fan.

I tend to give Worley a pass. I honestly think Tyler Bray could have stabbed 3 teammates(a la vandy) and he would have still been the starter. When Dools had finally had enough of Bray doing his own thing in the vandy game, Worley looked better to me. CP running the wrong route just made it look bad with the pick 6. Worley playing as a freshman is not really fair to determine where he was as a QB. Much like Bray did, when Worley played a weak team(MTSU) he had a great game.

Worley will throw for around 2800 yards this year after being named the starter. He will complete around 68% of his passes, will throw at least 25 TDs and will lead this Tennessee team to a win at Oregon. He will show us what a QB/team leader is supposed to look like. It's something this team has been missing the last few years.

If you need the lottery numbers, I have those as well.

Kid has started all of 3 games.... when he was a freshman... under Dooley. He's gonna be the starter at the beginning of the season after taking the majority of snaps in camp this summer, imho. Lets let this kid fail as the #1 before we say he can't play. Butch certainly seems to have confidence in both him and Peterman based on his comments about our "QB situation". The O&W game was certainly no indication of whether or not he should be our starter. To me he's our best option at this point until he shows that he can't get it done or someone else emerges.

I just want everyone to have an equal shot. If he out performs Dobbs Peterman Ferguson and High then great. I would be more than happy if he turns out to be a star.

Cool. We're of the same mind. I'll take Charlie High at the end of the day if he's the best QB to lead the team.

Best QB at the time will be the starter this year. Nuff said. Second best will be his back up. Where is the mystery?

It just makes it seem like Worley and Peterman are being compared to the likes of BJ Coleman and Nick Stephens. The former 2 players are much better prospects IMO. Bottom line, they just need an opportunity. Last year, I was tickled to death about Nathan Peterman's development and so were most others on Volnation. Now that Dobbs and Ferguson have signed it seems as though the 2 current QBs have been written off. Going from HS to starting in the SEC at QB is a tall order for ANY prospect. Worley should win the QB battle come fall camp.

I want to believe in Worley but something just makes me think he can't. I wish I wouldn't think that way but I was never impressed with him when I've seen him play, and I know it was spot duty but he just doesn't seem like the answer. I hope I'm totally wrong thinking that. Definitely give him the chance but my heart is telling me otherwise lol

Worley was the national Gatorade player of the year his senior year in High school. Kid can play. WTF is wrong with you people? It is almost like you want him to fail.

SC HS football and the SEC are two totally different levels with no basis for comparison. :hi:

Yeah guys. Rock Hill and the surrounding area has never had a single D-1 athlete come out of there.

There have been plenty out of that area. What does that have to do with Worley being a great or even good SEC QB? Trust me, I'm all for him panning out as a top SEC QB, I just haven't seen anything from him yet at this level that gives me hope. His throwing motion with SEC speed off the edges is going to get him killed if it's not corrected.

I think I remember a WR that was pretty good that played with Worley. I think his name was Patterson? Oh i guess CP wasn't considered a D1 Athlete.:lolabove:
