I was in Norman this week also for business and the locals want him to go to Tennessee over any other school (besides ou but they have to many QB) so I hope the locals help.

Of course saban's players go to the nfl. He signs top classes every year. Talent makes it to the nfl. Saban's name carries weight come draft time. And players just keep signing to play for him when they see winning and players making it to the pros. Big cycle. A la John Calipari in bball.

Now I'm sure they are developed some. But starting point in talent. And then winning titles has a lot to do with draft potential.

Ironic considering how bad they both bombed in the pros, huh?

I was thinking of this the other day, not like their time in the Pros were anything to get excited about. I get they were still the head coach but Saban was a snake when it came to the FinGate

He is on a list of most hated in South Florida. The Marlins' owner is probably the only one higher atm.

That will be the major debate during his senior season at Alabama as McCarron attempts his third straight national-championship run. There is no doubt that McCarron can win and manage the talent around him, but what can he do on his own?

The Alabama system hasn't allowed McCarron to take risks or try things down the field, and as such he's really only become a good read-and-react quarterback. We'll see if he can develop into a more flexible quarterback in 2013.

If so, his stock could shoot way up the board, but McCarron also has to be considered for a big move down boards if he can't shake the "system quarterback" label.

If you want a near guarantee to compete for a national title, I see why Bama is considered right now. If you want to fully develop as a quarterback and become a first round draft pick, you should look elsewhere.

If you want a near guarantee to compete for a national title, I see why Bama is considered right now. If you want to fully develop as a quarterback and become a first round draft pick, you should look elsewhere.

Well, pro scouts see them that way because its true. When McCarron plays in the senior bowl and goes to the combine his strengths and weaknesses will be revealed. He want have a road grater O-line and stud RBs to take the pressure off of him.

Saban did not relate to adult men at all in the league. You can treat kids about any way you like but grownups wont put up with it especially if they are making more money than you.

That guy isn't a true Bama fan. He would never say such a thing. Bama fans HATE UT and I hate Bama as a program. Not considering AU/Bama as true rivals is crazy. I'd dare him to say that in this state.

I'm starting to become really interested in the Alabama players results in the NFL echoing Carroll's USC players. Thinking back to the Pete Carroll led USC run, they had dozens of NFL players and signed the top recruiting class nearly every year and, yet, in spite of those numbers, they did not produce that many NFL stars (Carson Palmer is the best QB and he played before Carroll really got rolling there and Leinart, Sanchez, Bush, LenDale White, Mike Williams, etc., have been epic busts). The only true NFL star from USC's much hyped run is Clay Matthews (Brian Cushing is a very solid player). Likewise, Bama has yet to really establish NFL stars. Admittedly, it is probably too early to judge the Bama NFL players since Saban's run really began four or five years ago but Julio Jones seems to me to be one of the few big time players. My point is that a lot of these high school kids only look at the numbers getting into the league and fail to realize that USC and Bama have a relatively poor track record (when compared to the recruit rankings and number of players drafted) of producing NFL stars. I think part of it is that these players get used to playing alongside other dominant players and are not required to fend/compete for themselves against similarly, or even more, talented teams. I think this is also demonstrated in basketball with Duke, UNC, KU, and UK producing a lot of NBA players but few stars (they're nearly always the most talented team). The best players in the NBA aren't from the premiere schools: James (high school), Bryant (high school), Durant (Texas), Westbrook (UCLA, this is an exception), Wade (Marquette), etc. Some of it is assuredly chalked-up to every player in the NBA being excellent but some of it has to do with player development, IMO. I'm not sure what this means exactly but, in my mind, there is a sweet spot for professional development in playing for a marquee program for exposure but it is not necessarily advantageous to play for the premiere program if you want to reach your full potential. This is not an argument for UT or any other similar program just an observation.

I am sorry I do not live my life around a football program. Family first and yes I am glad to say I am not one of the many crazies from that state.

Life is simple and I do not let something I can not control dictate who I am or how my life will proceed. Sorry to disappoint those who enjoy flipping off other rival fans, making fun of where they are from, going to extremes over a loss, and putting a sports team before everything else.
