Just wanna post this little piece from an ESPN article about a certain schools QB depth, you know, just in case it hasn't been pointed out to Mr Cornwell. Not that he should shy away from competition, but 7 QB's?
I chopped the quote up, but here's the relevant stuff...
In before TW comes to justify their depth chart over ours.
Two or three of these guys will "voluntarily" get hurt before the next class #Sabancare

If they are smart at least 1 will leave this summer. Ely will never play. Might be too early for any others to leave yet.
they knew what they were getting into, and it's a 1 yr deal anyway - but I know that wont work on a rival board, haha.
Following that line of thought....they would have been even smarter to have not gone there in the first place?
Thats some good advice right there.
Preferred walk on isn't a scholarship promise. We always have invited walk on quarterbacks.I think that Bama's depth may hurt them. He would be the 7th quarterback I think I saw.
We have 5 QB's counting Charlie High. And he being a preferred walk on will eventually get on scholarship I guess. So we have potentially 6 QB's on Roster next year if we get this guy.
I wouldn't be surprised if we miss on Cornwell and Barker and Watson we didn't take a QB. Butch wants 5 QB's. If he sees what he likes in the 5 we have now then he may use that spot for another lineman, and just wait.
But IF you can get Cornwell, you don't pass him over.

Not surprising just seems to favor bama. Teams are using us signing two elite 11 qbs this past year against us. So if they win he job thats 4 yrs if peterman wins that's 3 and Worley 2. Bama has an open competition as soon as next yr.
Honestly I'm not real worried because Dobbs just has something about him that screams star. As long as we get a top 10 qb I'm good. It will be tough to pull a top 3 guy with a perceived depth chart like ours at qb. I know its not proven but people all over think highly of Dobbs signing
Cornwell can be a care taker at Bama, because that is all that Saban will allow for in his system, or he can be a superstar passer at Tennessee. That is the reality of the situation at both schools.
:loco: Yea with Tennessee's lack of running game they were forced to put the ball up more but your suggestion as a better care taker would suggest that Tennessee would be throwing down the field more thus gaining more yards per attempt which turns out to be inaccurate here since McCarron was outgaining Bray per attempt.
Not sure why some posters still think its 2009.
