'14 OH TE/DE Ethan Wolf (UT Commit 4/10/13)

Sure hope bama is not using visit from Wolf to try and force a commitment from Luatua. Of course I would put nothing past them.

"Yeah Ethan we are very interested in taking you as our TE for this class".

Luatua calls to commit while Ethan is there.

Wolf is left sitting in a room going, "coach, you still here".

Can't hate on the kid. It's his only chance to take these visits. I'd probably do the same thing. Get treated like royalty for free lol

Unless the kids have been told that once they commit, no more visits. If they have, I would not be shocked to see a spot back open. You can't make the statement and then not back it up.

(I don't know for a fact, they are to shut it down after committing).

I honestly think there is no such rule. We are not in a position to make those kind of demands. Plus this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for them. Let them have some fun.

I have no issue with a kid wanting to have fun. I am ok with them taking trips. I just would not take their commitment until they are done "looking around". JMO

He's not saying were dictating their every move, he's saying its possible we make sure they are 100% before committing by saying something like "the word commitment is strong, we expect if you are truly committing now you understand what that means, etc etc" and when they say yes to that, then they are truly committed to the staff and we don't expect funny business.

We will see how things play out.

+1

The only circumstance I am fine with that is if we had a new staff coming in and they committed to the old staff. That isn't the case here, by any means..

Of course. Ideally you would like the recruit to not take visits. But my question is will be there be any consequences to Wolf visiting Bama? Does butch pull his scholarship? I don't think so.

Depends. If the recruits were told once the staff takes their commitment they do not expect to see them taking other visits, then IMO they have to do something. Otherwise, all the other recruits see it as useless talk.

That's what I am saying I don't think the staff said anything to that effect to these recruits. I could be completely wrong. But have 15 guys committed by the end of may and you don't expect guys to take visits? I think that's rather naive.

You might be right. Up until now, just about every committed kid we have has said when interviewed that he is shutting it down. That is not normal for us in years past. That is why I think the staff has started doing it. Would also make sense why Booth, Truitt, McDowell and others are not committed when some felt they were ready to commit a month or more ago. They want to take visits and that means they cannot commit right now.

I think Wolf is probably upset that Daniel Helm is getting a lot of hype and a lot more attention. He might just be doing this to show the coaches, if we have Helm, where do I fit in?

I respect your opinion.

But, Wolf knew UT was taking two TE's. The staff wasn't hiding anything. And, I highly doubt this visit was out of jealousy for the recognition another player was getting, but that is JMO.

I wouldn't mind him visiting all the schools in the world but bama is another story. I would feel the same if he were visiting Vandy as well. I hate those two schools more than any out there. Just saying.

This just came in. A pic of Wolf at Bama. TIFWIW.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?

I hope he left his VFL Brick on Saban's desk holding down a note that said, "Thanks for all the free stuff, but you just got Butch slapped".

People act like he went on an "Official Visit" & caught a game day experience or something. It's a summertime "look".
