Doug mathews said exactly that. 14 is the max according to him

UT didn't have to answer :) just chill and let things play out. No one knows everything about the numbers situation, including Matthews, hubbs etc.

14 has been a consistent number between hubbs, jones, mathews, and others.

Seems very legit number to me

The other question is might this kid want to back off being an EE. If I didnt know who my coach was, I might open my recruitment back up and consider all options.

Granted at this point he has graduated as well.

Also, its a dead period, the kid had to initiate the contact.

Yep

The kid needs to back off being an EE to make sure he gets his decision right IMO.

No. He said 14

Again, I remember hearing him in one interview I believe say welcome 14 or 15 student athletes. I dont remember which one and cant put my hands on it though.

Will see how it plays out, but could be a delay in signing situation to.

Pretty sure he never said anything but 14. We all here initially thought he was just counting commitments(Malone wasn't onboard yet) but hubbs came out after that and clarified it was 14.

Yep. Kid should wait. Even then I think we are out of spots

Rules question: Is there a maximum you can EE or is it you can only back count so many?

The 85 number is what limits us on EEs

Hubbs has said attrition doesn't help that number until next fall this smith and the others didn't help that EE limit

That could have been before Harris and the other two asked for transfers. The limit is on the 85 #. We might have more room now, or CBJ is anticipating us having one or more roster casualties

So to calculate the number we can EE we have to take the number on scholarship this past season and subtract the seniors that graduated in December, then subtract that number from 85? Seems like those factors should be available somewhere.

O'Brien to Texans

Whew!!! Thought there was some bad news if losing a WR recruit I hadn't heard. Aren't we done at WR? Guess Butch has to turn over every stone until NSD just in case.

Since this thread already has so much EE talk, a question. What if a recruit is so intent on being an EE that he's willing to pay for the spring semester himself? Can a recruit do that and still practice with the team? He would be a student, just not on scholly(yet).
