"While this whole Bill O'Brien to the NFL talk was cooking this week, UT contacted PSU WR commit DeAndre Thompkins, who is here at the Under Armour All-America game.
Even before BOB to the NFL became official last night, Thompkins apparently was giving UT some positive signs in their conversations. Now that the move has officially happened, it's something to watch.
The problem for the Vols, and maybe even Thompkins is the fact he planned to enroll at PSU on Jan 10 or 11."

im assuming contact is permissible if initiated by the athlete during a dead period?

youd think the reporter would state that he contacted the coaches tho, rather than what was stated, not surprised if they made a mistake tho

Interesting. He looks like we could be interested as a slot WR based on how he is used in highlights. Trying to sneak in another EE.

Holley 5 srar DT is the PSU we need to try and steal. We have reached out but so has everyone else in nation.

It's our understanding that he contacted Tennessee. We will talk to him tomorrow after the UnderArmour game.

He's an EE which puts him in a tough spot. The question is does Tennessee have room for another receiver? It will be interesting to see what happens. Penn State is telling people they will have a coach in place in the next 10 days. I would think he would wait as long as he could to see who State hires. He's never been to Tennessee to my knowledge. We will be chasing him.
