WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR TENNESSEE?

It likely means the Vols are out of it for Darrel Williams even though they were a long shot there to begin with. Three good running backs in one signing class is exactly what this team needed and it was the goal when Butch Jones started on this class last December.

For the future, it means depth at the position. The Vols return one player this season, Marlin Lane, that has garnered significant playing time and with a class that includes Hurd, Scott and Paulk, a talent infusion is a huge help.

Down the line, the Vols will need to continue running backs with at least one every class and they may need two next year. Tennessee is already in good shape with guys like Eric Swinney, Nick Gibson and others.
