Spoke to a contact very familiar with the recruitment of four-star all-purpose back Derrell Scott out of Havelock (NC) this morning.

Scott has one official visit left: to Florida on January 17.

The contact indicated: "Yes Florida has a very legit chance. (Gators DL coach) Brad (Lawing) does a great job with (the Havelock) kids."

South Carolina has led for the majority of this recruitment. I've been indicating over the last two months since Scott officially visited Tennessee that the Volunteers have caught up with the Gamecocks in this situation.

He really likes the chances for early playing time in Knoxville.

I'm now being told by this same contact that as of this morning, Tennessee leads in this recruitment.

NC produces some top talent and UT, UF and Ga have all gotten great players from there. FSU has started recruting NC more the last 2 cycles esp with Jay on staff.
