It's a ton closer without DR. That is the biggest possible loss outside of Bray that this team could have had. It was the WR's as a collective unit that was going to give Tennessee the chance to compete with the likes of the "Big 4" on this year's schedule. I think the expectations drop off significantly without him on the team.

I agree. I was thinking worst case scenario w/ DR was 9-3. Now I think best case is 8-4. JMO.

That is exactly how I feel. I was thinking 10-2, 9-3 at the worst. Now I think 7-5 likely with 8-4 being the best possible. I think losing him is a 2 game swing for sure.

I think losing DR will cost us one game, but I think it would have been a game like UGA or USCjr, games that we would be the underdog in. I think winning the games we should will still come down to Defense and the ability to run the football. I know the passing game affects that, but if JH and CP are healthy, defenses will have to be honest.

If CP lives up to the hype losing DR won't matter much at all, certainly not a 2 game swing. And I think CP is going to do just that, live up to the hype. 2 days...

Hearing from people in the Lake Norman/Davidson area that it a battle between UT and Florida. Florida is leading, he has always wanted to go there. The Vols are certainly in good position with Will.

He was here last Saturday for the UF game.

Per 247 -

He raved about his visit for game citing how loud Neyland was, impressed with how many fans were out tailgating for the game, etc. Per Grier:

I’ll definitely visit a couple more times, and it’s definitely a place I’m considering

He holds offers so far from UF, ULL, UNC, ECU, Wake, and UT. He is getting interest right now from USCjr, USCw, FSU, Oregon, Vandy, and Maryland.

He stated UT is a place where, "you can't really go wrong." He thinks the game-day atmosphere, facilities, and academics were impressive. He plans to narrow his list down after his HS season is over. He talked to Chaney before and after the UF game, and has spoken to him again just the other night. Other interesting note (on whether Grier thinks UT has made him a priority for 2014):

It seemed that way,” he said. “They made an effort to talk to me a lot. Coach Chaney actually sent (Carolina Panthers quarterback) Jimmy Clausen’s father over to talk to me for a while, just talking about recruiting and that kind of stuff.

“I talked to him for a while. Him and his other son, (former Tennessee quarterback) Casey Clausen, came up to me, and they said Coach Chaney sent them. He said I was top priority, and he wanted to kind of give me some advice and stuff like that, so that was pretty cool

We are in good shape right now, that is for sure. In the article he says that he is going to come back multiple times.

I'd love to have another Casey Clausen. That boy was tough and a winner.
