You guys talk like we have CBs on this team..... Randolph will man one safety spot and Sutton at the other CB. We need 2 other capable CBs and soon. Gaulden is tailor made for CB in this league. He's a big CB and an average sized safety with weight on him. He'll be a big hitting CB but I don't know if he'll be punishing big backs with ease in the SEC. McDowell and Kelly Jr. are two big hitters that I'm confident in at safety. I'm very confident in Gaulden's ability to play CB at a high level. He probably can play safety at a high level but we've got the best safety duo in the country coming in. Why not get your best players on the field at once????

Gaulden is a natural as a center fielder and has a nose fore the ball. I dont believe he has the fluidity, quick hips needed to play corner. He could play it but I think he is much better suited for FS

Also with Moseley, Payne, and Berry, I think we are very well set at CB and can let Gaulden what I feel is his natural position. Eric Berry could play CB, but his home was SS and everyone knew that.

Really to tell the truth that's 3 CB prospects. Coupled with Sutton and maybe Foreman. One proven CB on the team currently and injuries do happen.

Also Gaulden has the tools to be great at CB. Berry played safety because we needed him there. It was his best position but he would've developed into a big nasty CB too. Janzen Jackson played safety because we needed him there. But CB was really the position he should've been playing. He was a big hitter too similar to Gaulden. Slight in weight similar to Gaulden but extremely explosive as an athlete. We didn't have the safeties to put Janzen at CB. With Gaulden we do and I hope we make that move.

We'll see when gets here. Kid is made to be a big physical SEC CB. I think our safeties in this class make it easy for us to put him outside. CWM can make the transition easy on him.[/QUOTE

Will most likely see Gaulden start out at NB this fall to get his feet wet and some game experience/coaching and see how he responds. Want to keep him close to the LOS and let him use his natural instincts/playmaking ability.

Kid may go to full time CB next year if he can develop.

Would be great to see Cam ball out this year and go NFL.

Next year, give me Gaulden and Moseley as the CBs.

Cam's only a sophmore. We have him for 2 more seasons at least.

Since I don't coach CBs of Safeties, I will leave the decision of where Gaulden plays to the coaches.

I won't leave it to the coaches. They either move the players where I want them, or I'll stop being a fan of UT Football!

WE CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN!!!...:stop: GET IT TOGETHER BUTCH!!! :aggressive:

That may be true but he hits like an LB. I don't think opposing players will care how tall he is after they're picking themselves up off the ground wondering what just ran them over.

Oh yeah, not arguing that. Cortez is cold-blooded. Just saying I dont believe he is 6'3".

If he grew into a linebacker, he could be nasty

However good Gaulden would be at corner I think he would that much better at FS. He has everything u want in a FS. He is a headhunter and I rather have him play with every thing in front of him. Btw Payne is a very good CB and the havr Moseley getting more PT than him so I think we are fine there

These two guys you named have proved nothing in league play. Also injuries happen at times. You're depending on 2-3 freshman bodies. That's asking a lot man out of them mentally and physically.

Also personally I feel he'll be better at CB than FS. He'll be feared at CB. Especially with all the screens these teams are throwing. Gaulden paired with Sutton on the outside will eat this nonsense up. Forcing the action back inside to McDowell and TKJ. Not to mention JRM, Bryant, Bates, and Johnson.

I think Gaulden can play anywhere in secondary which is why he is so intriguing but I agree his best potential is at Saftey. In watching him live a few times he is an "eraser" on the back end. He turned several potential TD runs into 4-6 yd gains as last line of defense. Stud when he sees everything in front.

He may be one of those that starts at corner to get best 11 on field early then moves to Saftey when Randolph is gone

Becoming a nice problem...buncha athletic, instinctive headhunters fighting for snaps...will make each other better...when one steps out, another with different strengths steps in and tries to outdo him....our best Chavis D's had this mentality:rock:

Genetically gifted individuals naturally partition additional calories towards muscle and repair, whereas many of us partition more of it as fat. This is one thing that can not be changed, and explains why many if us can't get too lean or muscular. You can work many other things on your favor, but that nutrient partitioning is a coveted thing.

This becomes more apparent as you get leaner, as the body fights to keep fat. I was dropping like crazy, but now stuck at 12%

This is interesting and I have never heard it explained like that before - I used to be a decent athlete and starting to do very mild workouts in the past year - my wife hates me b/c she has to completely work her butt off to get results - i run a half mile - do a few situps - 20 push ups - boom, see serious results - maybe 30 minutes 3 times a week

she has to run 20 miles that same week just to maintain - i just assumed it might have been a height thing or man-woman but maybe its a chemistry thing like this

and on the CB's I like Gaulden outside like BB - we shall see when they all arrive but I expect there will be a lot of shuffling to make sure we have the best athletes on the field - our 2 deep will have much more athleticism in the back 7 - really excited to see how it comes together

Early advocate for Gaulden at corner because I see a potential pro landing spot for him there...but you may be correct for this team...Moseley and Berry are going to warrant increased opportunities as they develop...JUST PUT EM ALL OUT THERE :yess:
