It'll be interesting to see him and Payne in the spring game, along with the rest of the EE's.

when I look at the rest of the EE's we have coming in it seems every one of them is a guy you would think would be competing for a starting spot and at least the 2deep

so i think it is unlikely that EM is an EE w/o the staff planning on him being a guy that is competing for a spot day 1 so i don't see him being a RS

jmo

EDIT... for those of you w/o a list handy these are a few of the other EE's based on OCI's list

Hurd, Malone, Dlambert, Lpearson, Dblair, Helm, Wolf, Payne, Creamer, Cthomas, Dmixon, Owilliams

of those 12 hard to see less than 10 in the 2 deep

I agree, it is hard to imagine keeping EM off the field with his kind of speed. This class is full of depth for our roster and I think EM will be a day 1 starter on ST and will be in the 2 deep in the Defensive Backfield. It is just hard to keep that athleticism off the field.

I think a redshirt would be best for him. Obviously being an EE helps a ton and could be the difference in him redshirting and contributing a little bit next year. I still say when all is said and done he ends up redshirting though.

Also, is Hendrix not an EE? I thought he was one originally?

And the worst part about that is that Coleman isn't even slow, he is actually quite fast. He is just awful, awful, awful in coverage

His straight ahead speed is decent but he lacks quickness for sure. Laterally he is not on the level you want a CB to be. And when it comes to tackling .... well it's just plain ugly.

MH I disagree about Coleman..he can tackle pretty well for a corner.

I thought he actually tackled better earlier in his career than he did this year. He definitely needs to move to nickel though, and even then I'm not sure he gets much PT. You absoultely cant have a corner on an island who has to give a 15 yard cushion just about every play.

I think Gaulden will start somewhere, either at the corner spot opposite Cam or in the nickel. A lot IMO will depend on if guys like Payne and Berry are good enough to win one of the corner spots this coming Fall.

No doubt in a perfect world Gaulden would be opposite Sutton coming out of camp with Payne in the slot.

I just wouldn't count on both freshman starting this year. Probably get a lot of playing time..just not starters day 1.

Yeah I could see one for sure starting, maybe 2 if you factor in the nickel spot. The cornerback situation is truly that bad.

I think McNeil and Randolph both probably keep their starting spots although I wouldn't call it a lock with McNeil.

I dont see any way Swafford and the other walk on keep their spots in the nickel. They just aren't fast enough or athletic enough.

You don't think Mcdowell or TKjr can beat out McNeil after the Vandy game?

I hope McNeil progresses a lot this spring - he didnt play as well as I had hoped he would last year - if he doesnt then one of the new guys will get a shot early in the year
