Throw some weight on him and you know what he is going to be. Don't even need to say it round here

I'm pretty sure he isn't 6'3". I said this on Creamer's thread, but his rivals profile used to list him at 6'0" and his hudl highlights say 5'11" although those were from his sophomore year. Maybe, he has grown since then, but there's a good chance 6'3" is a little bit of a stretch.

Regardless, the coaches offered him for other reasons so we'll see how this works out. Makes you wonder how many receivers we plan on taking. If this is a committable offer this wouldn't sit well with Booth.

i have the feeling we are looking for him to play safety, since it looks like McDowell might be trending toward Auburn as of late

"It was very exciting; I was waiting on it," Canteen told InsideTennessee. "I was trying to (get the offer). I was not really expecting to. Lord willing, I was going to.

"I think I did my thing out there. Coaches seen me. Got the offer.

"It's Wide Receiver U, and they put wide receivers in the league. What could you not like about it? The alumni is crazy and the games are packed."

"Just how they coached," the FOX Sports NEXT three-star prospect said of the Vol assistants. "I really enjoyed it. They get very technical. They expect a lot out of their players, and I like that. That's pretty much how my coaches coach me. We go hard on everything."

"Neiko tells me all the time how great (Tennessee) is," Canteen said. "I got a good feel for the coaching staff. Neiko tells me all the time the fans is crazy, the alumni is great."

"It went well. He (CBJ) was just talking to me about how the day went. He told me he likes me and things like that," said Canteen, who prefers the offensive side of the ball in college.

NJ.com reached out to Eastern Christian Academy (Elkton, Md.) Freddy Canteen, Wednesday, to get his perspective on his recruitment. At the time, the 5-11, 175-pounder had just come off a Rutgers unofficial visit (last Saturday) and had a lot of positive things to say about the Scarlet Knights program, even naming them his favorite. However, Tennessee has long been considered one of Canteen's favorite potential destinations due to his ECA teammate, Nieko Creamer, being committed there, and his belief that they consistently get the football to their receivers.

I feel he will commit by the end of the week. What will this do to the other receivers like Booth, Malone, and Lauderdale that have yet to commit? And what about the Berry brother that wants to play offense?

We just lost Lee from our commits, is this because of the offers to these higher rated receivers? 1st decommit. Hopefully there will be no more.

I doubt this kids offer is committable at this point. He's closer to six foot then six three. And there's still guys on the board like Malone, lauderdale, booth, etc.

"It's real big. I was waiting on it and I came out not expecting to get it," Canteen said. "It's Wide Receiver U and they put wide receivers in the league. What would you not like about it? The alumni is crazy and the games are packed."

"I liked how they coached. I really enjoyed it. They're real uptempo and I really like that. That's how my coaches coach me, real hard," Canteen said. "Wide receiver and defensive back. I can play defensive back but I want to play wide receiver in college. My route running and speed separate me," Canteen offered. "I'm very technical and sound and I know how to create separation and catch the ball."

As for Creamer, he spent most of his time on campus with his fellow commitments and is already beginning to feel like he's part of the team.

"Every time we come here they've got a big event going on and it's organized," Creamer said. "We can chill in the players' lounge and this time is special because all the commitments are here and it's a great feeling to be able to chill with all your teammates."

As an early enrollee, Creamer only has to wait several more months until he's back on Rocky Top for good. "Every time I come back I love it. I never want to leave. I just can't wait until it's my time to call it home," Creamer added.

Agreed. With his size, speed and athleticism, this staff will put 120 pounds on him and develop him into a solid interior offensive lineman. No question.

Is there any tape on this kid. If he is legitimately a 4.43 guy, at 6'0 tall, he may be a take over Booth.

It's not either/or with these kids. It's take or no. He proved himself in camp and got an offer. If he has the measureables they are looking for and they know where they want him to play he is a take regardless of who is out there. He is a Rivals 4* - that works for me especially since he camped here. The other receivers all know Butch is going to take at least 4 and probably more.

He measured out at 6'1"
