'14 JUCO WR Lavon Pearson (UT SIGNEE 12/18/13)

CP is a freak athlete but still wasnt a very good route runner. He got open so many times on just pure speed and athleticism. I'm guessing that is why he hasn't had a big receiving year in the NFL. But once he becomes a good route runner he should put up huge numbers and be one of the best receivers in the nfl. Looks like Pearson may be the more complete receiver coming into school than CP. No he isnt CP and not the athletic freak CP is but will do great things at UT. Damn North, Pearson, Malone, Croom, Pig, Jenkins if he gets healthy, plus the athleticism of Vic and who knows where Creamer ends up. But we will have playmakers at WR, and a diversity of size, speed, quickness. Not to mention 2 of the top TE's coming in. By 2015 we should really be lethal on Offense and adding Preston Williams wontthe even be fair, if they all live up to the hype.hoping Riley is the answer at QB.RB with Hurd, Paulk and whoever else they can add in either this class or 2015. 2015 we should really be competing for the SEC, especially if we can keep geeting bigger, faster and more athletic on D.
100% agree. I was only meaning the athletic freak CP was. Pearson is a much better route runner

Interesting tidbit that I saw listed from ESPN's Jeremy Crabtree on reddit

Jeremy, (UGA fan btw)

if you could pick one recruit from the 2014 class to make an immediate impact with his college team, who would it be?

From the high school ranks, I think both Leonard Fournette and Jabril Peppers will be able to step on the field right away. You usually don't see running backs star from day one, unless they're Adrian Peterson, but Fournette is as close to AD as I've seen in the 15 years I've been doing this. And Peppers will make an impact on special teams right away if he doesn't get PT at WR or DB. He's so darn athletic that I see him doing damage early on.
From the junior college ranks, I'm looking for Tyreek Hill at Garden City C.C. to blow up at Oklahoma State. He'll be impossible to cover with his speed in the OSU offense playing slot WR and on punt and kick returns. Lavon Pearson, going to Tennessee, out of Feather River C.C. is another I think will make a big impact.

Welcome aboard, Von. You now have a nation of Vol fans that have your back and will be screaming their heads off in support when you are on the field for the rest of your playing career at UT and in the NFL.

He's different. Not as electric with the ball in his hands (but he's no slouch in the area). But I think he's better when the ball is in the air. He has better hands and body control. At this point I think he just a better receiver. If he had bray throwing him the ball next year I think he would put up better receiving numbers than CP did by a pretty good amount.

If LP can start visualizing himself as a basketball goal, Fergie will hit him every time

What? You say the same thing I said and you don't get the Breakerboy bullsh!t response telling you to quit making stuff up? :)

Your not being negative. You're being real. Pearson said it. Leaves plenty of room for interpretation.

I hope he makes it in but he did crack the door open for potential issues.

Yawns...... Grade concerns huh???? :)

Really exciting our coaches will have 8 mths to teach Hurd, Helm, Wolf, Pearson and Malone our offense before throwing them into a game
