'14 JUCO WR Lavon Pearson (UT SIGNEE 12/18/13)

Watching his film dude looks sick and as good if not better than Patterson. He's got the height and speed to make one of the best WRs to come out of UT when he gets drafted in the NFL!

He's not the Patterson type, but he is a more ready WR, Patterson is a once in a generation type athlete, but he was raw. I think, from watching Pearson's film, he is more ready than Patterson as a WR, no doubt, and will contribute day one.

No he won't. I believe Pearson is a better and more polished receiver than Patterson was, but Patterson is a better athlete. I still think Pearson will be huge for us next year. Him, North, pig in the slot, and hopefully josh Malone. Sprinkle in croom I think our receiving core could be very good next year.

That's saying a lot, my man. We can only hope.
GO VOLS!

Probably better before he gets the ball in his hands, but not after... CP was special as a runner

Volnation always sets realistic expectations for incoming recruits.

I think it's pretty realistic. If he believes, he will achieve. He's a juco not a incoming freshman straight outta HS. Therefore he has and gets higher expectations set for him

If Pearson doesn't put up any numbers in the first couple games next year posters on VN will be saying that he "isn't an SEC talent" or "Doesn't have the work ethic."

Not me. I keep faith until the end of the season. People have bad days players have bad games

Couldn't have said it better myself. Pearson will be a huge impact but in a different way. He's a good route runner with great hands. Patterson, while not a great route runner, had the raw athleticism to change a game.

do hopes=expectations ? no. hopes are fun and set the bar high. expectations are a minimum threshold of performance that we expect. thus, it is more fun to talk about our hopes than our expectations. imo.

ReRead the OP. That isn't hope, it's a declaration.

This kid has a total different skill set. He's fast and tall but he's more of a WR than Patterson was. Patterson on the other hand is more of a playmaker with the ball in his hands.

AKA terrible comparison OP.

I agree 100% since he is my family!:yes::salute:

Hell yea man. Dudes gonna be a force to be reckon with when he arrives at ut. Don't listen to all these armchair coaches. I believe in every player on our football team and they can all achieve greatness if they believe in themselves. Mind over matter
