'14 JUCO WR Eric Lauderdale (previous UT commit)

Why are half of y'all acting like he's already decommitted?

He also said in the article:

“I’m probably going to start taking my visits after the season because all of my games are on Saturday, so I can’t take visits over the weekend. I haven’t set dates for any visits yet. I’m going to visit Tennessee, most likely Florida too. I’m going to take all five, but I don’t know of the other three.”

Per usual, I think people are starting to "jump the gun" a bit. If we are going to be recruiting the best players (and like we've been recruiting so far under this staff), we're going to have to get used to players taking other visits and seriously considering other schools while being committed.

As soon as he gets back to UT and gets some more peanut butter, all will be good. Last, this article was written by Luke Stampini, a UF 247 writer. Call it what you want, but the article is going to have to be inherently biased, and it shows.

Another thing to consider is the power of CBJ haulting these visit plans. No doubt in my mind he laid down the law on weatherd. Hoping that happens here!

Must be all the cool marketing play-for-the-joker images. How can we ever compete with such cutting edge stuff?!?!

I think you hit the nail on the head....and its a legitimate question. I know I'm a biased gator fan, but I don't see how UT could ever out recruit UF at WR when we have this going for us:

This is the type of thing that is why they keep recruiting WR for this class hard. Sure if they get the right commit, they would take it. Anytime you go soft, the lady may go look for something that is hard.

Keep recruiting him and others.

I hope Butch isn't conceding this guy as gone the way people here are.

Jones has been doing "alright" in recruiting so far.

May lose, but I'm not counting on it yet.

I get the sense that Butch and staff recruit our commitments as if they are not committed.

Wouldn't worry about Florida. WRs are dumb to go there. Curious to if there is another offer he is waiting on for him to make that comment.

Would love to keep him but this is why you keep recruiting other WRS in case guys flip.

And here's the key fact that you left out, Pease has had over a year to develop Florida's offense, and he's still failing to find consistent production. On top of that, Pease and Muschamp, had time and prep to land the recruits needed to fit in their offense. While Jones and Bajakian have been here at Tennessee for a little over 9 months, running a new system with less talent, and overall a roster full of offensive players that are a bad fit for this offense. And yet, the passing statistics between Florida and Tennessee are pretty identical at this point in this season.

With Tennessee playing a whole extra game. You make fair points but that is something to consider.

I agree that definitely plays a part, but my point was. That with Florida's time to develop and overall talent, it really shouldn't be close in comparison to us whether we had an extra game played or not. We lack talent, depth, and our offense is still a work in progress every week. Florida has had ample time to improve their offense, but they have yet to improve for the most.

Using our one down yr to base your argument on? Lol ok. And the numbers are still comparable.

So it begins might as well start preparing this class is starting to fall apart.

If anything, our fans should know WR's are usually interested in Tennessee. IF we lose a couple, they can fill those spots pretty easily IMO. Having the Juco guys is great as you expect them to play well earlier. IF we lose the 2 Juco kids, Malone becomes even more of a priority. A WR class of Berry, Malone, Vic, Creamer, and Booth is still very good. Maybe the staff takes a look at LaVon Pearson & Sam Boyd who are good Juco options.
