'14 JUCO WR Eric Lauderdale (previous UT commit)

So people who are better with their bodies than their brains are lesser people? Wow.

Which ones have the potential to contribute to the greater good of humanity? Unless we feel that entertaining us is more important than finding solutions to real problems facing humanity.

I work close to the student-athletes regarding academics and I can't really get into details due to NCAA regulations, however I will say that CP may have had poor grades but he worked very hard and tried his best. Unfortunately for him, he isn't as gifted academically as he is athletically. Do not harp on academics as a reason to dislike CP, he really was a quality guy and awesome to be around. Very positive person.

I liked cp and loved to watch him play. He was let down somewhere along the way before he got to UT. I believed he tried. My issue is not with CP. I just can't believe some don't think it matters cause of sports, revenue, nfl or whatever. It is sad and part of the thinking that keeps these situations repeating themselves.

Because I was catching up after having a busy work day. Not just cp talk. Time to move on. Want the Fort Lauderdale kid.

We're also looking forward to hearing what Lauderdale has to say after he leaves his Tennessee visit. The junior college receiver was very high on Tennessee before his visit and we've heard his time in Knoxville did nothing but help the Vols.

I guess you're not considering the fact that guys like CP will make far more money playing football than they could in any other field. Money that can be invested in communities and charities that contribute to the greater good of humanity.

I actually didn't mean to insinuate that it was CP I was talking about. To be honest, I really don't know about his academics. I was talking about student athletes in general who use College as a stepping stone without regards to others or the damage they may cause a program.

it's not just student athletes,my niece had told me about students getting passed,in 2 of her classes, that she knew for sure there was no way for them to attain a passing grade, they were a couple of friends of hers,it made her mad, because she put in the work to get good grades and they didn't,the no child left behind is a load of crap,if that is what it has turned into,so the schools can get money, they just pass them

My wife is a behavioral therapist in schools, and every year they pass mentally challenged children who can't read or even count to ten into 1st and 2nd grade. Kids get bullied and made fun of and never learn to actually read, because 2nd grade teachers aren't teaching reading.

my friends daughter has just come out of college to be a teacher,we were talking about disciplining kids, she said they were taught to ask a kid that was jumping up and down on a table,to keep asking them to stop, till they finally did,the school teachers when i went thru school would take a paddle to you and the USAs school scores keep dropping
