'14 JUCO WR Eric Lauderdale (previous UT commit)

I must have missed that. But even if he did commit before visiting I would be worried. Those type of commitments rarely stick.

@e_lauderdale: “@VolBoro: @e_lauderdale why eric lauderdale not a vol...” Lol u tell me

This is the tweet he was he was referring to

That article was garbage just someone with an opinion and misleading title. No direct quotes from Eric besides one tweet. Dude trying to get website hits. We would take Eric but he is waiting to rack up offers. Going to eventually be a battle for him IMO

Nice call bro...

I'm missing your point. One poor article discredits my opinion? I'm just saying we have a lot of other needs and return every WR on our roster next year. We already have Kameel, Wharton, Lee, and Creamer who can play WR just in this class. Plus we are going after Kitt, Booth, and Malone along with others still. Another JUCO WR isn't a need.

Creamer is a OLB/DE prospect most likely. You should check his thread out. I fount some cool comparisons between him and Shaun Phillips. Vic will be like Freeman this year, figure out what position is best for him once he gets on campus. So, in reality we may only have 2 WRs in this class as we speak, and Kitt isn't an option anymore IMO. Hopefully Booth commits and pressures Malone to pull the trigger before someone else does. If we miss on one of those two we will take on Lauderdale IMO.

Very good points. If we miss on a few then yes I believe Lauderdale is a take, I just feel like for the time being 1 JUCO was what we were comfortable with. Just feel like other positions are a bigger need as of now, with the commits we have and targets we are in on. :hi:

It's looking like we're getting Booth on Friday. I don't know what exactly the staff is after, but I'd have to assume that with a Booth commit they don't want to do anything before they know about Malone. Shame too, because Lauderdale seems like a pretty good player.

Certainly could take all 3 of course.

I agree with all this.I think we end up with Booth & Lauderdale IMO.Vic will end up being a DB.JMO.

Tennessee too, maybe

There is one program, however, from the Southeastern Conference that is recruiting him the hardest.

“Tennessee for sure,” he said. “They check up on me and give me a call once a week. They try to communicate any way they can, Facebook or Twitter. They send me a bunch of mail too.”

The Vols have even gone as far as flying out to the Golden State to show their interest in Lauderdale.

“(Tennessee assistant) Zach Azzanni, came up here (last week) and said they really needed some receivers,” Lauderdale said. “He really likes me and said he flew out here just to see me and I believe him”

“I do like that school,” Lauderdale said. “They have good facilities and a good coaching staff. They care about the person they come and recruit and I do like that. They’re in the SEC and they’re in need of receivers right now honestly. They know the program hasn’t been going that well past few seasons, but they do have one of the best programs in the SEC. “

Schools showing strong interest are UGA and Oregon. He's also been in touch with Washington and USCw.

He said his decision will be based on how each team performs this year. He wants to go to a winning program.

Probably not too promising for us then.

How did you reach this conclusion from my post?

IMO, the only competition we'll have for this guy is UGA, and that is because he's from GA. He likes UGA, but they just recently started recruiting him hard.

Because he said he will look at how the teams do this year, and most do not think we will have a good season.

He wants to see how the teams perform. I hear you, but I don't think he's looking solely at W's and L's. He wants to go to a winning program. He admitted in the quote that UT is one of the best programs in the SEC.

We can perform well as a team and not have a 10-win season.

I think he is saying I want to see how each teams offense performs and how he will be utilized. No problem with that.

My guess is if he knows how bad we've been as of late all we need is maybe a 7-5 season to show we are making a turnaround. My guess is he will also be sold on the fact that we will only get much better next year and he has the opportunity to join a top 3 recruiting class.

7-5 with the schedule this yr would be awesome.

Two crystal ball predictions today, and both were to Tennessee on 247.

The whole "crystal ball" thing is going to become a joke. The analysts are going to make 10+ predictions before NSD simply based on each interview a player gives.

JMO. There should be a rule where the analysts can only change their prediction once.
