'14 JUCO WR Eric Lauderdale (previous UT commit)

Well we know that Butch wants 12 WR on scholarship.

1.Jacob Carter
2.Paul Harris
3.Marquez North
4. Cody Blanc
5. Pig Howard
6. Jason Croom
7. Vincent Dallas
8. Ryan Jenkins
9. Lawrence Lee
10. Neiko Creamer
11. Devrin Young
12. Drae Bowles

Now assuming that one transfers and Creamer goes to tight end, that leaves space for two. Lauderdale and Kitt would be great to fill those spots. Either that or butch thinks there will be a LOT of attrition. Just wanted to throw that in there

Vic will be a WR and think Creamer stays at WR. Think he wants atleast 12 and by time this class comes in there will be SR's on the roster. Think at WR we will add Malone and Lauderdale to go with Vic and Creamer and add Truitt, not sure if he will be a slot guy or RB. Dont think we get Kitt or Booth.

I thought about that a lot. And if Croom is a WR then Creamer (who is smaller) is going to be a WR.

And just like you could have fewer than 12 scholarship WRs, you could have more than 12 scholarship WRs. The 12 number is a guide, not a hard-and-fast rule. I don’t think they ever had that many at UC, honestly.

I honestly think you have a bunch of guys trying to fit in one more slot on offense.

Definitely..think 12 is the minimum he wants.

"I'm open to everyone right now," Lauderdale said. "I want to start taking some visits and checking out some schools. I kind of want to make my decision by the end of the summer, but at least narrow it down to my final three."

"Tennessee is my #1 right now," Lauderdale said. "I watched their spring game. I talked to coach Z and he told me I could come in and compete for a starting spot. They need receivers and I like the SEC too."

"They had Peyton Manning there and a large fan base," Lauderdale said. "They are one of the teams that have the most wins in the SEC. They have two receivers that were taken in the NFL Draft. I like the orange and white. I'm learning more about them every day."

"I'm really athletic and I break tackles," Lauderdale said. "I feel like I have good hands and I make the tough catches. I love to play physical too. I think I'm a stronger receiver and I got a good first step. I'm working on timing my jumps when I go up for the ball. That's something I can improve on."

I am starting to wonder if this guy is a take at the moment. With the addition of Jackson, I am thinking he's not. If he were, then I believe he would already be committed.

I'm thinking the staffs confidence in Kameel Jackson actually taking care of his academics can't be extremely high. He will be a bonus if he makes it and not someone that would keep the staff from taking Lauderdale or anyone else they want imo.

“I am wide open right now,” said Lauderdale. “I’ve got three years to play two, so I really got to look into the schools because I don’t want to go somewhere and really not play too much. I’ve got to look at the quarterback situation and coaching staffs because there are a lot of new coaching staffs.

“I am going to watch how teams play this year to see how much they run the ball and I have to have a good connection with all the coaches.”

As he stands today, Lauderdale has the best connection with the coaching staff at Tennessee, which is under the leadership of first year Volunteers coach Butch Jones.

“I talk to all of them and they are cool,” Lauderdale said. “Honestly right now they don’t have too many receivers on scholarship. That is one of the top schools I am interested in. They are my top school right now, but I am not going to say that’s where I am going because I want to have a top five by the end of the summer.”

Lauderdale wants to take his official visits during the fall before making his decision.

This guy is showing some wisdom but he should go ahead and commit to the VOLS before it's too late.
