Did any of you DA's even watch his film? The guy explodes into the backfield. No wonder this place is known as Kmart.

I know but they did not offer him for DT! They offered him for OL.

I like Mosely don't get me wrong. And I like Big Dan but Big Dan is not going to run down any QB or RB from side line to side line. He hasn't done that any this season and I don't see from Moselys film him doing that either. If Mosely was very agressive and disruptive demanding double teams every play then i could see giving him a shot. But the fact is he is not!! Watch his film!

However, if you look at Lamin or Owen Williams film both these cats are very disruptive, with a high motor that can run down QBs and RBs side line to side line. Thats my point and i believe thats why Alabama did not offer him a DT position.

Also, I dont see Mosley being an OG at all in this style of offense like I've seen people speculate. He might project as an Offensive Lineman okay in an Alabama type of offense, but he doesnt like look like an offensive lineman that fits into a zone blocking offense like Tennessee, FSU and schools like that run.

I think we are about to see atleast three more juco D line commits. The staff is seeing first hand what an under performing d line gets you in the SEC. Stomped

There's no way we take 3 more JUCO DL....I think ideally we will get one more JUCO and Charles Mosely

Well If I were the d coordinator I would be begging butch to get as many as possible. The only way TN has a better D next year is to bring in immediate help at DT. Our secondary is solid and could be even better with help from a decent pass rush.

A D-Line that consists of

Vereen, Henderson, and either Reed or Hertelou
Mosely, Vickers, J. Miller
Carr, O'Brian, Saulsberry
Barnett, Lambert, Hendrix

Has a lot of potential to be really good...

I don't agree. Our secondary needs help. Randolph and Sutton can't do it by themselves. We need another CB, and I think McNeil will get pushed by a freshman. We also need to replace our walk-on nickelbacks. Many teams throw the ball around, and we have seen Toney get burned too many times this year. Our backend is slow on defense, and it has shown.

Yes, we need difference makers, but we don't have to go all out at DT. We need a better pass rush, and we have addressed that with Henderson, Hendrix, and Lambert. Also, guys like Lambert and maybe Barnett could slide inside on passing downs.

As opposed to all other conferences where an underperforming Dline is a key ingredient for success

Yeah they all have potienal to be really good but not next year. Those are all quality players but TN desperately needs impact bodies that can play a full season and still compete. Vereen, Carr, lambert and Saulsberry are the only players on that list that I can see making plays every game. Danny O is also a solid player but shouldn't be starting ahead of Carr. So what happens when one or two of those players get hurt and then we are relying on 18 year old freshmen to play way too many snaps once again. We need grown men that are ready to come in and knock some people around. Maybe I have my hopes set too high for next year but I think if we could get some older players up front on the D line we could have a season to be proud of next year. I really like the way our offense is shaping up.

If the five freshmen we have committed can't make a push for playing time next year we are in trouble.

Fair point, but if we are taking 3 JUCO DT's then we are losing someone. I would rather not lose Weatherd or anyone in the backend to take these guys. I guess my point was that we need at least one JUCO DT, but I wouldn't compromise more than two for losing players in the back seven. When you have to play two walk-ons at nickel, you are bad.

Yeah if we lose any commits it definitely shouldn't be from the defensive side of the ball. Our class is more than I could have hoped for coming into this fall. After hearing swain and some others say we will probably lose a couple more commits. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them filed by juco d lineman. Unless Clifton gets swayed from LSU or one of the RBs we are in on decides to come here. Malone and Mosley are really the only two left that I can't get a feel for. It is what it is and we will end up with a great class regardless.

Will OV to UT for the Vandy game...

Williams, a South Georgia native who is currently committed to Texas Tech, has been in touch with the Vols for some time now and with a good weekend the Vols could very well be in the thick of it.
