'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

When the 2014 season rolls around and they are in camp getting ready to do some DL work, I think it will work itself out. When we have Ryan Jenkins lined up at DT next to O'Brien, I think Lambert will see the problem and agree to slide to DT allowing Jenkins to move back to WR. JMO

I suppose if we did land another Juco DT and he was closer to 290-300, he could play DT and Lambert could see reps at DE. I think he will play both, kind of like Malik Jackson did for us.

Yeah I see him playing a role very similar to Malik as well. I think he'll take snaps at DE on early downs to help in the run game, then I think he'll slide inside to rush the QB on obvious passing downs.

It doesn't really matter what he gets listed at. Depending in package he will be on end or at tackle. Happens all the time. Position name doesn't mean you have to play that same spot every play. Clowney even plays DT at times

Agreed. Also, when Haynesworth was a Titan, they used to slide him out to DE and put KVB in at tackle.

Am I the only the one who is really satisfied that the Lambert recruitment swung Florida's way before his UT commitment? I tend to believe he had committed to Butch Jones earlier than his official commitment. I doubt the Florida hype was planned but man did it work out well. Way to go Butch, bait and switchin the Gators already!

agreed - he is going to be one of the bigger 3 of the 4 Dlinemen

don't really care what you call him

This is the guy we need! Take two more high schoolers and 1 Juco guy, we'd be set for awhile. Defenses are done with packages, and he could play at all kinds of positions depending on what Jancek wants to do on a particular play. We want to be a machine full of many parts.

Coach Stripling likes Saulsberry so do not count him out next year. Carr came in at 290. He was told in advance if he came in that heavy he might be moved to DT. Carr thought it would be ok to show up that heavy anyway. We will be fine next year on the line after Coach Stripling works with them all year.

Saulsbury is a decent ball player. Not in the McCullars, Couch category. But he's good enough to plug into the rotation.

Honestly, he's kind of a mistery as in we don't know how good he can be. He had a good game against Bama last year (5tkl,1tfl) and earned the start the following week. Well early in the game of his start he suffered a high ankle sprain, basically ending his season. Again, he's not all American, but he's not Allan Carson either.
