Hubbs and Fortenberry have said Humphreys isn't a take right now. Our staff sees him as kind of a tweener and they're not as high on him as they are some other DT's they feel good about landing.

August 7th. Signing day is 6 MONTHS away. You don't think we might pick up a few DL from now until February?

Hint: We will.

Besides...you can't really call this class a success until they are all signed up in February anyway. You can be encouraged by their progress but nothing is solidified yet.

Um yeah we could use a RB and a few LBs right now. Plus DTs need to get in the system. How can you look at our current roster and not want 3-4 in this class?

I said I want 3.

If we took a RB this class, someone of Jabo Lee's quality, I doubt he plays significant snaps at UT. Hurd will come in and start/get significant carries, and Lane will be a Sr next year. Also Hill has looked good and is only a RS Fr. The staff realized this and that's why Jabo is Temple bound right?

On LBs, we could have used 1-2 last year, but we struck out. That made part of this class possible. The argument for you saying we needed a LB is much stronger considering Vereen was originally thought to be a LB. I have no problem starting Weatherd, Bates, and a guy on our roster like Bynum/Harris/etc at LB next year though.

DT is different though, most need more time to develop. I'm not worried yet though. Danny O will be a really good one IMO

If the staff feels good about passing on someone like humphreys, I'd be excited about who they think is coming IMO.

I laugh at the name calling as well. I was just called a vagina a lil but ago. :eek:lol: Of course it depends on who you are when it comes to personal attacks and who can do it. Just gotta roll with it. :)


If we miss on Lambert and just get Barnett and Mosley at DT, we are set up for disaster IMO. Neither guy will be ready to go in 2014. Other than Carr and O'Brien, who do we have we can count on at DT? I think Ford and Williams would have been better options for guys who could play early. Would love to get the (2) TN guys as they will be great depth in 2-3 years. As for 2014, we could be set up for problems.

True, maybe there's good news about the guys on our team. It's just not something I'm going to worry about just yet. I do like Saulsberry a lot though.

i dont think some people realize that there will be new DTs that will come out of nowhere. if we miss on Lambert, another JUCO DT could come out of the woodwork. that DT might even be better... who knows. also some of the DEs, could gain weight over the next few months and might project at DT in college.

I have no doubt he would be better. That is how it works on VN. No matter what the ratings say, what the offer lists show, he will always be better if he is an option for us. :)

true. i just hope people realize there will be new names (better and worse). some JUCO DT starters could have been injured last season and might show out this season.

There will be many more juco players pop up on the radar once the season start. There will also be many more recruits pop up on our radar. It's silly to have a mindset that these are the only defensive tackles or recruits we will take in early August. There will be many more no names and maybe even higher profile guys pop up.
