It's weird how players perception of who is good who isn't is totally different from what the public thinks

its obvious he reads VN

You know Terry, just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... And totally redeem yourself!

I don't understand why he would be silent. CBJ has not been having any silents. I still think ultimately Booth ends up a Vol, but I don't believe he is a silent right now.

Yes he has, and if you remember the whole "waiting to take a commitment so he doesn't scare off other kids" deal? I'm not sure why he's having him wait, or why Booth is waiting, but he was ready to commit and backed of because CBJ told him to.

This doesn't make any sense. He just said a few days ago that he has opened his recruitment back up. He is not a silent commitment, and I would honestly be surprised if he is first in line as a contingency.

Here are some quotes from 7/2.

""I still have those four, then I have opened it up to some more schools," Booth said. "My coach asked me that same question because a lot of schools are hitting him up. I told him I am open to hear from schools I'm interested in, but I really want to find that one school for me and be done with it.

About Tennessee visit:

"I didn't even really talk to the coaches much about recruiting," he said. "They were respecting that I wanted my space right now."" -Rivals

I'm just as curious as you, but regardless of what he says ^^^^ I believe that he's still a Vol. Again, call it a "hunch." :)

I have a hard time seeing Booth end up in Orange. I never understood the whole "he was told to wait so to not scare off other WR recruits". Once Lee bailed(he was obviously the one worried about numbers), it should not have mattered. If Malone or Lauderdale wants to be a VOL, I can't see us passing on them. If they are concerned with Booth being on board, they may not be right for Tennessee anyways. Only reason I can see he was told to wait was so the staff could gauge other WRs and have the room to take them as part of the class. Booth agreeing to wait IMO, is just setting himself up to be left out if the staff can get the other WRs they are after. I think Booth would be well advised to commit somewhere that he is a priority. It's great that he loves the VOLS and I wish we would just take him. Looking at it w/out orange shades on, the kid needs to choose a school who shows they want him.

I just don't see how you would take a commitment from Lee and not from Booth. Just doesn't add up and also makes me think that something else is going on. Next time I meet up with my guys I'll try to dig a little deeper.

I'd take Lee over Booth

Booth is waiting to get a chance to be a VOL where as Lee ran away when there seemed to be competition. I'd take Booth all day. JMO

First off, we have no idea what Booth is actually thinking. We assume Butch told him to wait based on pure speculation.

However, I was just talking about talent.

i know im reaching on this...

Booth just said his birthday is in 12 days. Someone had a theory that Butch might be telling silents to pick a day that is important to them and commit on that day. If this theory is true and Booth really is a silent, it might be possible that he could commit on his birthday which happens to fall on the weekend that all the commits and recruits will be on campus (weekend of 19-21st)

EDIT: which could also impact the decisions of other recruits. it could get momentum going for that weekend

It might be a strectch, but I do like the way you think. :hi:

I'd take Booth over Lee bc he's not scared of competition and we have slot guys on board. At least you're going to get all you can out of a guy who wants to be there and doesn't fear competition. Lee wanted no part of it.

This.

Don't see Booth being slowed-played. Considering he ...
graduates in Dec = EE
6'1 205 sub 4.5 40
excellent hands
runs good routes
CBJ and Staff have known and recruited DB since his FR yr.
loves Tennessee, wants to be (some say already considers himself) a Vol

Had a solid performance his JR yr after an oft-injured SO yr., staff wants Booth to camp to evaluate and test (physical exam and drills) his foot/toe, left arm and right hand.

From reading this post I get the feeling that you "get it"

Then why is he not doing that. We want him, he wants us, do what you need to do and make it happen.

With Payne saying Booth will be on campus next week with all of the commits, this makes me believe my prediction might be right. The kid is going to spend his birthday with our commits. I still think he will go public then
