Somebody picked Indiana on the 247 crystal ball today
Dude, just apply for a job on the staff already...Would not be shocked if he decided to stay close to home. Sometimes feeling wanted is enough and wins out vs slow playing a recruit. A kid can get to the NFL via the BIG10 quite easily if he shows out. Still hope we get this kid. Slow playing him in hopes of landing Malone does not look like a good trade off right now IMO.
Dominique Booth ‏@D1Bound721 47s
Going to camps uncommitted sucks
Now that Kitt and Kamara are off the board, it would make sense Booth was allowed to commit. Maybe the staff is going to roll the dice on Lauderdale and Malone and hope we don't regret it. I think it's a mistake as Malone is looking for a reason to leave Tennessee. Having Booth out recruiting for UT right now with as much tweeting as he does would be big. It is what it is.
considering that he is only 6'0"... is it a possibility we are looking at him to play slot and not outside?
because isnt Evan Berry 5'11 or 6'0 and he wants to play WR? could it be that they are both playing the same receiver position and berry is ahead of booth?
I think we have to take Berry as an athlete and then decide if he can play WR once he is on campus. Not sure how Berry could be higher on the WR(Slot) board than Booth having never played the position. Booth has over 100 catches, 1400 yards, and 18 TDs as a WR. Berry is in my top 3 kids I want us to get in this class. Just not at the WR position.
If Booth is 6'-6'1 and 200LBS, he could line up out wide or in the slot IMO.
Maybe we don't think he's that good?drawing from 15 years of following recruiting.
when a kid is highly recruited and is dying to commit. there is usually a reason for such.
im sure larry, or carlos will chime in that "u cant assume because we dont know whole story" which spells truth.
we dont know the reason, but there has to be a reason. kid is dying to be a vol, is talented as hail, would make a great slot guy.
i may get blastsd for this. i trust our coaches more than any in decades, bur how they deal with numbers, needs, and realism is to be founded

To me it looks to maybe just be a simple numbers crunch. We have major needs at LB, DL, and OL with 2 current OL commits, 1 DL commit (maybe 2 with creamer) zero of which are DT's, and 1 JUCO lb. On the other hand, we have 2 wr (plus the addition of Johnson) commits and major interest in Malone and Lauderdale.
We currently have 15 commits (before their senior seasons even begin) leaving us with 14 spots to fill.
We are at or near the top for these guys:
Bates - LB
Mouhon - LB
Hendrix - DL
Judd - JUCO RB
Gaulden - S
McDowell - S
Miclesse - LB
Barnett - DL
Wilson - LB
Jackson - JUCO OL
Ford - DT
Blair - JUCO OT
Cornwell (or whichever QB bubba doesn't want)
Sawyers - DL
Truitt - Ath
Mosely - OL/DL
Berry - ATH
Berry -Ath
That is 20ish including Malone and Lauderdale, we are obviously not going to land all of these guys but, we stand a good chance with many of them and we have to leave the door open for guys who may get noticed their senior year. I also didn't list every person, especially JUCOs that we may be after....
Basically you have to ask if a talented WR such as Booth outranks any of these guys listed above. Rolling the dice on Malone and Lauderdale doesn't look as dangerous when you look at our most important needs and the commitments we have at those positions now.
I have to admit, the ability to be picky is nice and a little new for us around here..
