Here at his first game of the year. Will try to give updates as the quarter goes along.

JaQuan looks like a totally different person. He's something to see. Him and Robert Hubbs would be an amazing guard duo. Contained through the first quarter and most of the second. Then had a monster through the lane dunk and a 1 handed put back off vertical. End of the half has 13 points or so numerous rebounds.

JaQuan and Darryl Baker went toe to toe tonight. JaQuan ended up with 25 points and Darryl with 38. Cuonzo seemed really impressed with him. Talked to Jaquan for a little bit.

Finally got to meet CCM. Told him about being a big UT game, about the tough game against GTown. He said "There will always be tough ones doesn't mean we will quit working. Said the team is getting better everyday. Was a real pleasure to meet him. GBO

Yea I've heard attitude is the biggest hurdle with him right now.

If there is a coach that could change an attitude I believe a hard nose coach like Martin is it. Really when I went to the game. He was trying to be a leader and put his team in the right spots. But I wouldn't be surprised that Martin makes him a top priority. I'm 6'4 and I stood next to him his a legit 6'5 6'6 with guard handles

Tennessee front and center for Lyle tonight. Looney and Lyle seem to be the 2 getting the most attention from Martin and his staff.

Pulling either would be impressive, but both would be monumental, best pull in UT history IMO. (from a rankings and perception standpoint)

Just to think Hubbs, Lyle, and Looney are all volume scorers. I think we can tell what our staff is going after. I'd put Looney just a notch ahead of Lyle in who the staff has as the top target.

Thinking about having those 3 on the court together makes me giggle.

With Lyle's list and the way our offense is playing, I'd say no chance of landing him.
I still prefer Jared Terrell over him. Interested but no offer as of yet.

“@KYCS_Recruiting: 2014 PG JaQuan Lyle is still considering UK, but they're not at top of his list. Top schools currently are UL, IU, Tenn, Xavier, GTwon, & OSU.”

That's good news.

Strengths:
JaQuan is a very smooth and very skilled combo guard. He's terrific at getting in the lane and creating for teammates or finishing himself. He has range on his shot to 19 feet. JaQuan possesses excellent court vision. At his size as a young player there are few that can stay with him. His strength is in his versatility as he can play all three perimeter positions.

Weaknesses:
His shot is pretty streaky and needs more consistency. Also, he's only an average athlete at this stage (2011) and he's not very explosive; he's more smooth than explosive. It's hard to judge him on the defensive end as he is guard's post players at the 15U level.

Bottom Line:
JaQuan has terrific upside and if he can add some explosiveness to his game he will reach an elite level. All the tools are there. We are anxious to see him play up a level (16's) to get a better read on him.

Notes
Travel Team: Indy Speice Heat...Averaged 15.4 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 3.7 apg as a freshman...

A pair of highly ranked juniors -- No. 15 ESPN 60 prospect JaQuan Lyle (Evansville, Ind./Bosse) and No. 24 recruit Daniel Hamilton (Los Angeles/Saint John Bosco) -- made the trip to Louisville along with potential elite 2015 wing Jalen Coleman (Indianapolis/Cathedral).

Had a chance to catch up with Lyle this morning. Had a lot of good things to say about his visit. He'd previously been to campus for camp last summer, but said he was caught off guard by the game day atmosphere and really enjoyed it.*

He specifically mentioned the fast-pace as something that stood out about the style of play. He added that the more he finds out about coach Martin the more he likes him.

He's taken several visits to Indiana and Louisville and many think that those two programs are the teams to beat. Lyle insists he's not close to making any kind of decision.*

He's got a top-10 of Indiana, Louisville, Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, Georgetown, Cincinnati, Ohio St, Texas and Xavier.*

Long way to go to obviously but impressive for the staff to get him down here.
