This guy isn't too shaby on defense either. One highlight reel esque video showed some of his linebacker play, and the dude can tackle.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bransiel fails the academic reqs for the team...he's a few sticks short.

COACH MARK ELDER ON A.J. BRANISEL

“A.J. is a very athletic tight end, who plays with toughness. He can be a playmaker when he gets the ball in his hands. A.J. is very smart and competitive.”

Welcome to Tennessee Mr. Helm. Thanks in believing that with your help, Jones will take us to the next level.

Seemed like a ton of dominos fell yesterday in regards to where top TE's were going. Bunting chose Michigan, which led Helm to UT, and Weisher to ND.

A few tweets..

@RECRUITINGUT: That awkward moment for James Franklin when he realizes that Daniel Helm is smarter than any Vandy player..

@MMcAdams14: Tennessee just landed a commit from one of the classiest dudes I know, Daniel Helm. Congrats buddy

@govols247: #Tennessee TE coach Mark Elder gets commit No. 3 in Daniel Helm and ranks No. 17 nationally among recruiters, up 30

I read someone misspelling his last name and thought I must have been misspelling it by spelling it right...so I started misspelling it. That's not good.

Can't go wrong with a little Midnight Oil! Boom baby! Time to put in the midnight oil Mr. Helm and help this class rise to the top! Cheesy I know, but had to do it.

Nobody can dance like that man.

I watched his you tube video and this kid can go up and get that ball he looks like a Wr out there I can't wait for him to get here and watch him get six.

Kinda questioned that 5.Whatever GPA.. And then I saw this quote on the ESPN insider..

“I don’t know how it’ll parlay with the other tight end commit, but we’ll have a lot of healthy competition in our careers.”

Parlay?... Would probably take me an eternity to find a high school junior that's used parlay in an every day sentence.

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean imo :)

Parlay was used repeatedly in the first one.
Very educational movie :)

I guess he's the purely book smart kind of kid then...otherwise I wouldn't believe it upon meeting the kid.

Helm appears to be a real good receiver but will definitely need to add strength and bulk to handle any inline duties in the SEC. I think him and Wolf will be perfect 2 TE set...Gronk and Hernandez!!! Wolf is very physical and will play at 260, Helm i think more at maybe 235?
Not sold on Quinn? VB player with one year of football. Few smaller schools offered but nothing great. Know Nothing on Branisel..smaller kid but maybe a great receiver too?

Repeat after me, "In BUTCH I trust." Then sit back and enjoy. Have you seen Quinn's verticle? Endzone or 1st down jump balls are his all day. Volleyball gives you great hand-eye coordination. Good volleyball players have quick reaction times and body control.

I became a much better receiver and pass defender once I played volleyball too. It is great cross-training for football. Just my 2 cents.

This coaching staff did not take a full class in '13. They got quality.

I am more upset with the eternal hamstring injury in Meredith...concerns me with the medical staff.

"I was looking for a coach with character, and I found that with Coach Jones," said Helm, of Glenwood High School in Chatham, Ill. "And I know I can work with (tight ends coach Mark) Elder and (offensive coordinator Mike) Bajakian. I got along well with all those goes. And I feel like their strength and conditioning program will prepare me well for college and perhaps even the next level someday."

"When I started the process, no, I didn't think I would commit early," Helm revealed. "As I got more into it, I realized it and I went through the schools I had offers from. The two I really liked were Ole Miss and Tennessee. I don't think any other school would have been real interesting. I got on the phone with Coach Jones (Tuesday) and that was reassuring."

"Recruiting aside, coach Jones said he's been thinking about me a lot and really wanted to coach me. For me it was an answered prayer; I'd been praying for direction," Helm said. "I really liked both schools a lot. Coach Jones took the time to tell me exactly how he felt and what he thinking about it. It proved to me to be an answered prayer. I felt it was the place to go."

"I'd love for some other guys to join us," Helm said. "I don't really know where I might start that, but I might try to get into contact with guys already committed and try to establish relationships with them before I do anything else."

This is fantastic stuff..Lean years may be become a thing of the past with this type of recruiting Of course have to coach'em up..Even though we may struggle with the tough schedule this year belive 14 could be a potential break out year..Optimistic..Have hope for first time in a while

Who are you? How do you know anything about AJ Bransiel?
Why would you remotely think your statement NEEDS to be made in another player's thread?
Bransiel committed to play for the UT Volunteers...makes him an effing genius in my book :)
