"The Vols are still in a good position with Hendrix. He isn't claiming anyone as a leader, but the Vols are still after him hard and having him being from Tennessee and his family fans of the Big Orange certainly helps.

Now, USC will be a threat, as will Florida. But, the Vols are in good position right now."

Micquell Cotton isn't the type of guy who holds back. It shows on the football field where he's an aggressive, two-way star for O'Fallon (IL) High School. And it shows in his recent interview where he didn't mince words about the Missouri Tigers.

"I love Mizzou," Cotton said. "I'm a huge fan, I've always loved Mizzou."

An offer might not be too far away. Missouri has recently begun showing interest in Cotton and Cornell Ford recently stopped by O'Fallon High School. "He had a lot of good things to say," Cotton said.

There is also an added element of intrigue with Cotton's recruitment. He is "best friends" with 4-star defensive end Dewayne Hendrix. The two teammates have said they would like to attend the same college.

"He's definitely interested in Mizzou," Cotton said about Hendrix. "He's actually considering putting them in his top few schools. I think he's just waiting on me to get my offer because we want to go to the same school."

Found this little nugget in a write-up on 3* ATH Micquell Cotton on Mizzou rivals. Not putting much stock into this, but found it interesting and figured I'd share.

Hendrix isnt going to Mizzou no matter what happens with Cotton. Tennessee is going to have to battle the heavyweights to land him.

are you sure? Hendrix has been retweeting nothing but Mizzou stuff for about 2 weeks now

I'd be shocked if he went there when schools like UF and USC are after him. But I do think he's going to be an extremely tough pull for Tennessee. Anyone thinking he is anything close to a lock has absolutley no clue about how his recruitment has changed over the last month.

I hope this kid ends up a Vol. I do understand why some of these kids choose to go to a school like an ole miss, uk, or mizzou. They can get to campus and see PT from day 1 a lot easier than waiting their turn at better schools. If you stand out at a school like mizzou, you stand a very good shot in the NFL. A lower tier SEC team is still center stage compared to other schools. They can still show out vs other SEC opponents.

You can't believe everything you read...Hendrix will not pick a school based on following a teammate...not true at all

Exactly. You see every year kids talk about going to school with their friends and all that but in most cases in the end the kid makes the best decision for himself, not based on what his friend is doing.

Fortenberry suggested only a couple of days ago that we were in good shape where Hendrix is concerned. Are you hearing something different on your end?
