'14 GA RB Treyvon Paulk (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Seems like a great character young man, appears to be level headed, really impressed with the character of the guys that coach jones has recruited.

Good to hear. Would be something special if this young man is able to recover fully, and be good to go for his freshman year. If Adrian Peterson could do it, maybe this kid can too. I just hope I can be there to see him line up for his first play. That will be special.

Randolph came back from it fine. Tore it the end of September and was playing in fall camp this year. Hopefully Paulk does as well.

For every Randolph you have way more curt maggits where the knee is fine but the mental part still won't allow the kid to play full go. Derrick Rose same thing.

Maggit is not being slowed by mental issues with the injury.
He was getting swelling when going full speed.
That inflammatory response is a symtom of the repair.
It can cause an infection if you get to much swelling over to long a period.
The only way to get past it is time, and with the body normalizing to it.
Im not sure as to the cause of the inflammation.
It just takes more time for some than others.
These players deal with the mental aspect better than their bodies deal with the stress.
The mental aspect is almost never an issue, its almost always related to the body.
The reason people do not know about the nagging nature of some injuries, is that the school, and doctors cannot release that info.
Please consider that every persons body is different, and immuno response is diffrent.
He may have had the flu before the surgery.
There is no way of knowing for fans what the cause is.
It takes aas long as it takes, deal with it.
But, please do not say the kid is not mentally ready ... you do not know.
Maggit wanted to play through, but was not cleared.

Even if he's healthy enough to play, I hope we get enough production from Lane/Hurd/Pickett that he can redshirt next season.

It would be a waste for him to tweak something because he is at 90% or because he isn't mentally comfortable going full speed yet.

That being said, crazier things have happened than a young RB bouncing back quickly from an ACL injury.

Excited about this kid's potential. Hopefully he recovers well, but I agree with Darth. I think, based on the staff's handling of Maggit's situation this season that we don't have to worry about them rushing Paul.

On Paulk's recovery:

"Everything I've heard so far about Paulk's recovery has been pretty encouraging. I think he's coming along well enough that he definitely shouldn't be written off for next season. He still has a long way to go, obviously, but his progress over the past three months has been good.

As of right now, I have no reason to believe he might not sign with Tennessee in February. I don't think he's likely to be fully recovered until at least the summer, but that might be a realistic goal based on where he is right now. We're hoping to catch up with Paulk soon for an update."
